Connexion2 supply and manufacture the award-winning Identicom, a device which enables a worker to discreetly raise an alarm when experiencing verbal abuse, a physical attack or if they have fallen ill.

Through GSM (mobile phone) technology, highly-trained staff at a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) can monitor and listen into the device, dialling the emergency services if necessary. GPS technology fitted into the device can also help locate a lone worker. New for 2014 will be 3G variants of the Identicom. The Series 9 Identicom is the world’s first 3G lone worker device.

All Identicoms also have a sensor which can detect and monitor a ‘Man Down’ situation if a lone worker slips, trips or falls and a temperature sensor for workers operating alone in high or low temperature environments.

The company supply Identicom to employers as part of a fully managed solution called SoloProtect. The fully inclusive service supports the device and includes SIM Card & Network Usage, 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre Monitoring, monthly reporting and an in-house, UK-based Customer Support team.

Connexion2, which was set up in 2003, now has in excess of 120,000 Identicom devices in circulation around the world.

The company has recently established an office in Roermond, the Netherlands, launching its SoloProtect service into the Dutch and Belgian markets.

The 8 series Identicom device has previously won “Most Innovative Product of the Year” at the CIR Business Continuity Awards and the company is proud to manufacture and make its innovative device in Britain.

Identicom remains a cost-effective investment for businesses looking to protect lone workers. Connexion2’s BS 8484 accreditation enables genuine ‘Red Alert’ situations to be escalated to the Police at a Priority level where appropriate.
