EcoStore helps minimise Total Cost of Ownership 12
Version 6 of Wavestore VMS with its EcoStore™ hard drive management technology will be released early in the New Year. The new software design promises to reduce power consumption significantly, by spinning down hard drives not in read or write modes. Wavestore’s proprietary data storage system is a very robust and fault tolerant design able to support multiple data volumes with up to 64 Petabytes per volume, each with up to 64 trillion images in each volume.

EcoStore™, is configurable to support Linear Write, Mirroring or RAID options together with redundancy and/or failover, and is applicable to any size of system.

Benefits include:
• Inactive drives can be spun down, reducing their continuous stand-by power consumption to just 1 Watt per drive.
• Reduced power consumption and reduced air conditioning demand.
• Hard drive longevity enhanced.
• Tight integration with the Wavestore VMS for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Control of individual drives, or arrays of drives, automatically.
• Specific data tracks and video images retained for user defined periods.
• Time/date ranges locked to prevent data deletion.
Wavestore installed at Axis Experience Centre 12
A Wavestore NVR has been installed at the Axis Experience Centre located at the Axis’ headquarters in Lund, Sweden. As a leading expert in the shift towards digital video surveillance, Axis invites large numbers of installers, systems integrators, consultants and end-users every year to visit the Experience Centre to learn about Axis products, and its partner network.

Wavestore is committed to being a member of the Axis Application Development partner programme to ensure interoperability between its VMS and Axis’

network cameras and the A1001 access control solution. “We are delighted that Axis has further demonstrated the value it places on our technology partnership by inviting us to have our NVR on show at the highly impressive state-of-the-art Axis Experience Centre in Lund,” said Chris Williams, Director of Wavestore. “It provides a great opportunity to raise awareness of how easy it is for users to record and manage the high definition images captured by Axis cameras, as well as the interaction and support for its recently launched access control product.”

Wavestore will be exhibiting at Intersec, which takes place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on 19-21st January 2015.If last year’s exhibition is anything to go by, Intersec 2015 will provide another great opportunity for Wavestore to raise awareness of how our VMS, when placed at the heart of a seamless integrated solution, can ensure that the requirements of even the largest and most complex high security and critical infrastructure projects in the Middle East, are fulfilled. Congratulations to our technology partner Herta, the winner of the CCTV System of the Year (excluding cameras and lens) category of the 2014 IFSEC Security & Fire Excellence awards.Wavestore is very pleased to have established a close working relationship with Herta at a time when facial recognition software is increasingly being specified as an integral component of video surveillance systems. This award further adds to Herta’s reputation as world leaders in the development of cutting edge facial recognition solutions. The rising costs of deploying security guards had led to increased use of intelligent perimeter detectors supported by high definition video surveillance cameras, with the objective of detecting intruders before any crime takes place. At high security, critical infrastructure sites, the same combination can complement other security measures in order to combat the threat of terrorist attacks. The integration of Wavestore with Optex offers a powerful tool to detect would be intruders, whilst providing instant access to recorded video when verification of any incident is required.
