Schneider Electric ranks 10th in global 100 most sustainable corporations

schneider (2)For the third year in a row Schneider Electric has achieved world ranking as one of the 100 most advanced companies in the field of sustainable development by the Corporate Knights.

The 2014 ranking was announced at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Schneider Electric ranked 10th in the list, and is positioned ahead of other industry leading companies in the industry and capital goods sector.

The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World, ranking by Corporate Knights, the Canadian magazine for clean capitalism, consists of the top 100 performing stocks worldwide, based on a range of sector-specific sustainability metrics. Data for the project is primarily collected from Bloomberg and through direct engagement with the 350 companies that made the project’s shortlist, selected amongst the largest global cap stocks.

“Schneider Electric progresses again in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations ranking, said Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman and CEO, Schneider Electric. Integrating the top 10 ranking this year and emerging as the leader in our industry is a strong incentive and encouragement to increase our engagement in sustainability.”

Since 2005, Schneider Electric measures and publishes it’s progress on a quarterly basis through its sustainability dashboard, the Planet & Society Barometer. It consists in 14 indicators across three key areas of the Group sustainability development strategy: economy, environment and society. This tool allows Schneider Electric to evaluate and assess, on a regular basis, its actions for sustainable development and share results with all its stakeholders.

Furthermore, Schneider Electric has an active ranking strategy in the main sustainability indices such as CDP[1] and DJSI [2] or the annual ranking of Corporate Knights.
