Dedicated Micros is banking on dv-ip atm

announces the launch of its compact, next generation, DV-IP ATM Express DVR at IFSEC 2010 Dedicated Micros – part of AD Group – announces the launch of its compact, next generation, DV-IP ATM Express DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to deliver faster, lower power, and more efficient CCTV video and text integration. The DV-IP ATM Express system, which can be networked or used as a standalone solution, is targeted primarily at the banking sector for Automated Teller Machine (ATM) protection and has been designed, from the start, to cope with the confined conditions of an ATM. Crucially, the DV-IP Express ATM is built around an embedded operating system for enhanced reliability and network security – important requirements in this critical area. Looking in more detail at the key features of the new 4-channel DV-IP ATM Express these include : true global record rates of up to 100pps (PAL) and 120pps (NTSC) across the unit; a compact footprint of only 246 mm by 125 mm; low power demands; the potential – when combined with Dedicated Micros’ new ATMi (interface module) – to readily capture and process transaction data which can be recorded with the video footage. The DV-IP ATM Express’ ability to offer live and post event analysis of transactions through a text search engine can help, for example, to resolve issues regarding cash withdrawals. Access to the unit’s interface, from a local display, means that the DV-IP ATM Express can be configured and controlled even without network connectivity. The DV-IP Express is also able to transmit footage over low bandwidth links, using TransCoding so that image streams can be tailored to suit the viewer’s bandwidth requirements, whilst MultiMode Recording supports the dynamic switching of the resolution, record-rate and compression per camera. From a user standpoint, the DV-IP ATM Express brings the benefits of Dedicated Micros’ enhanced GUI (Graphic User Interface) to ATM protection. A video timeline and colour-coded soft key operation are now offered as standard plus Point & Go telemetry control of cameras such as Dedicated Micros’ Oracle dome. As the DV-IP ATM Express incorporates NetVu Connected technology this ensures – particularly for larger scale installations – that it is fully compatible with a wide range of CCTV products such as the DV-IP Decoder, Pick-a-Point, DV-IP Server, NetVu Console, HighVu Excel and NetVu ObserVer. The key benefit here is that a user can bring all of this, diverse surveillance infrastructure, into a single, unified, viewing platform. As well as the banking role, the DV-IP ATM Express is suitable for retail outlets such as supermarkets and convenience stores where there is a requirement to monitor the Point Of Sale (POS) area and in-store cash points. In addition, there is the potential, given its small size and low voltage for the DV-IP ATM Express to be deployed to meet covert or short-term security requirements. Said Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing at Dedicated Micros: "Given the enhanced features built-in to the flexible DV-IP ATM Express, we anticipate that the take-up will be even greater than the current DV-IP ATM unit, which has already been deployed successfully in thousands of bank branches worldwide. “Over the years at Dedicated Micros we have established a strong working relationship with ATM manufacturers and this continues with the new ATMi (interface module), used in conjunction with the DV-IP ATM Express, which supports both Diebold and NCR protocols." "It is important to note that many of the enhancements we have introduced, such as the DV-IP ATM Express’ compact size, have been made possible by the capabilities unlocked through the adoption of the ‘System-on-Chip’ CW5631 Visual Signal Processor (ViSP) from our sister company ChipWrights – also part of AD Group. This access to in-house ‘silicon’ has given us complete control over the development of this embedded product, from both a software and hardware standpoint – something we believe is unparalleled in the industry. In addition, our PowerScript bespoke application tool means that, should the need arise, it will be possible for installers, systems integrators and end users to readily tailor DV-IP ATM Express’ solutions to meet their specific needs." New product generation SeeTec 5.3 live at IFSEC

released product generation SeeTec 5.3 on IFSEC SeeTec AG, pioneer in IP video and one of the leading companies for open platform IP video management software, showcases the recently released product generation SeeTec 5.3 on IFSEC Birmingham. Together with eyevis, a manufacturer of large screen displays, and advancis, which is developing the WinGuard building management application, SeeTec can be found at booth D145 in hall 4. Visitors will see the enhanced performance of the new SeeTec software release 5.3 using 64 bit technology. Furthermore, they will gain insight into multi streaming, allowing an even more flexible use of the SeeTec software by using up to eight independent data streams per camera in parallel. Thus, for the live view a fluent high-quality image stream can be displayed (e.g. H.264 with 25 fps) while for the server-based image recording another format with a lower frame rate can be used (such as MJPEG with 2 fps). SeeTec 5.3 does not only optimize the transmission of image data but simplifies the analysis perceptibly by applying intelligence. Especially in large installations, images in live view can’t be analyzed in a reasonable way as the awareness of the security staff decreases after only a short period of time. Intelligent video analysis by SeeTec disburdens the employees and can enhance the detection rate drastically. SeeTec video analysis is available in two packages being showcased at the Birmingham fair: The SeeTec Analytics Premium Module offers popular analytics features such as areas of interest, trip wire, object classification and a set of detection rules. With the SeeTec Analytics Enterprise Module, the full spectrum of intelligent video analysis can be used. In addition, it contains rules for the detection of objects being left behind or taken away and for loitering detection. "By the use of intelligent video analysis, IP based video surveillance solutions can play out their full strengths." says Kaj Svenningson, chief officer international expansion at SeeTec. "Thus, SeeTec partners can offer even more powerful solutions in the future." Raytec IR Lighting Protects Estonian Highways

RM50-AI-30 units have been chosen by the Technical Center of Estonian Roads RAYMAX IR illuminators are playing a crucial part in the remote CCTV monitoring of winter road conditions and highway maintenance in Estonia. The RM50-AI-30 units have been chosen by the Technical Center of Estonian Roads because of their excellent night time performance and ability to function in extreme environmental conditions. “It’s not just the cold that the RAYMAX illuminators have to withstand”, explains project manager Stan Metlitski. “Estonia is one of the most north-easterly Baltic states so its highway infrastructure has to cope with winter ice, moisture and snow, vibration and turbulence. In this environment, maintaining reliable CCTV surveillance over key transport routes is vital so the decision was taken to upgrade key road cameras with IR capability, to guarantee effective image capture during hours of darkness”. “The IR illumination has to be sufficient to cover at least 30m from the point of installation,” says Mr Metlitski. In fact the RAYMAX units, which feature Raytec’s Adaptive Illumination™ system, offer a wide choice of illumination coverage patterns, from 10 degrees to over 180 degrees, and ranges up to 370m. Their surface-mount LED design also ensures they have a much longer working life than traditional lamps, delivering even illumination with zero maintenance and no risk of bulb failure. With low power consumption they also cost much less to run, and as Infra-Red units they do not cause any unnecessary light pollution. “We are delighted that our RAYMAX technology has been chosen for this important application,” says Shaun Cutler, MD of Raytec. “The Technical Center of Estonian Roads is a highly regarded engineering and technical consultancy which tests materials and products for some of the world’s toughest conditions. Their seal of approval for the RM50 is a real testimony to the performance and quality of our products.”
