TPS appoints Peter Hurry as Head of Security and M&E Services

Engineering and construction specialist TPS, has appointed security and blast engineering expert Peter Hurry as head of its Security and Explosion Effects Division.
Formerly of Buro Happold and Kroll Associates, Peter Hurry has an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management and is a Fellow of the Security Institute. His extensive experience also includes a 29 year career in the Military where he carried out a significant number of important counter terrorism roles. He becomes Head of Security, Explosion Effects, and M&E Group, TPS.

The security arm of TPS offers a wide range of services including security systems design, risk management, blast engineering and counter terrorism advice, design for the built environment and critical national infrastructure. The TPS team of experts, headed by Peter Hurry, work directly with client security and facilities managers, or as part of multi-disciplined design teams engaged on new build or refurbishment projects.

QSG expands senior team

Quadrant Security Group (QSG) has appointed James Smith as their new Sales and Marketing Director. Joining from Axis Communications, James has over 18 years’ experience in the security and IT industries in sales and marketing management roles.

The appointment marks the second addition to the senior team at QSG this year, following the appointment of Phil Doyle as managing director in February. Using his experience, James will lead the sales and marketing teams and build on QSG’s expertise of delivering complex end-to-end security solutions for environments such as high security, public space, blue-light, financial and commercial.

SSAIB assesses first company to new British Standard for Investigative Services

One of the United Kingdom’s leading fire, security and telecare certification body, SSAIB, recently completed an assessment of Probe Investigations (UK) Ltd in a pilot scheme. The scheme tested the company against recently published British Standard 102000 for Investigative Services.

The Liverpool based professional investigation firm achieved the requirements of the draft standard, prior to its publication, and is the first such company that SSAIB has assessed against BS 102000:2013. This code of practice provides recommendations for the conduct, management, staffing and operational accountability for the provision of investigative services, and can be used by investigative services buyers/customers.

AMG’s IP and analogue range to be demonstrated at Intersec 2014
