Securi-Guard Adds Engineer to the Fire Extinguisher Team

Securi-Guard has added another engineer to its fire extinguisher maintenance team as the service continues to grow apace. Mark Stapleton will help in the supply, service and maintenance of the company’s wide range of extinguisher equipment – and his appointment is in response to a growing number of clients the service continues to attract. Like the rest of the team, he has undergone training to industry standards under BAFE, the independent registration body for the fire protection industry. Experienced in the field of portable fire extinguishers, Mark said he is delighted to be playing a key role in helping Securi-Guard grow the fire extinguisher service still further. “This is a great appointment for me and I am looking forward to using my knowledge and expertise to meet the demands of an increasing workload of the fire extinguisher team,” said Mark. “I will be joining a well-qualified and very experienced team of engineers who are helping to significantly build the reputation of Securi-Guard in this particular area of fire safety.” Mark will also be able assist with one of Securi-Guard’s key extinguisher accounts, Plymouth City Council. The South West’s largest independent fire and security specialist is responsible for the maintenance and service of 2,500 fire extinguishers currently in use in council buildings. As part of the Building Maintenance, Repair and Refurbishment Framework, Securi-Guard is also responsible for the council’s fire systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and emergency lighting. Mark will also work closely with Securi-Guard’s fire and security sales team to assist in the ongoing promotion of the company’s fire extinguisher service.

Dr Ioannis Loukas to Speak at QMARSEC 2014

The organising committee for QMARSEC 2014 has confirmed that Dr Ioannis Loukas will become one of the guest speakers during the annual conference scheduled to take place on October 14th and 15th 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton in Qatar. AS a PhD in International Relations from the University of Athens, Dr Loukas has had a prolific academic and professional career in the field of armed forces and marine systems. In a career spanning over three decades, Dr Loukas has held several important positions, such as the Chair Professor in Greek Navel Academy, Professor in Helmut-Schmidt-University of the German Federal Armed Forces, and the Director, European Centre of Delphi, Council of Europe. He has also served as the Senior Advisor to the Chairman of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, Doha. Expressing his gratitude towards Dr Loukas for becoming a part of QMARSEC 2014, the Director of Qatar National Security Shield Project Staff Brigadier (pilot) Mohammed A. AL-Mannai stated, “I take this opportunity to than Dr Ioannis Loukas on behalf of the organising committee for QMARSEC 2014.
