Ericsson boosts network services portfolio with intelligent deployment

With technology advancing rapidly, networks are becoming more complex and diverse. This places an increasing demand for a network deployment best suited to the needs of service providers, with quick return on investments and future-proof. With this in mind, Ericsson has redesigned network rollout for the 5G age with Intelligent Deployment. As the building block for optimum network life cycle management, it connects network design, installation, integration, acceptance, maintenance, and services evolution. This solution comprises enablers such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and a data-driven cloud-based architecture that support different functionalities service providers can use such as Intelligent Site Engineering, Intelligent Integration, and Remote Access. Intelligent Deployment will deliver the right network at the right time and use network data for continuous development and improvement. Data-driven and digitalized processes allow service providers to make network management decisions quicker and more effectively to meet market and user expectations. The integration of AI will ensure evolution of the network with the changing times. Nello Califano, Head of Strategy and Portfolio Management, Ericsson Business Area Networks, says: “With our Intelligent Deployment solution, we are vastly improving the way we deploy networks, making it more agile, flexible and responsive to customer needs. This means we can deliver parts of our portfolio to service providers based on their specific requirements. We use extensive data insights to offer new services as well as pre-empt problems when introducing intelligent monitoring of the network even after end of deployment. By investing more in our network services, we create better solutions for our customers.” The solution includes outcome-based (buying professional services), subscription-based (buying access to standalone capabilities or to the entire offering), or a mix of both as and when needed for the entire intelligent deployment process or specifically for network deployment services. This enables service providers to secure higher accuracy, transparency and cost efficiency from site survey to acceptance, more flexibility in terms of change management and a faster time to market. Intelligent Deployment is built on trust and data integrity, affording service providers an end-to-end information process, guiding the workflow at every stage of their services. At the same time, ensuring security and safety of the data, providing user-friendly solutions, and adopting legal restrictions of the country where they operate. In the UK, Vodafone is using Ericsson’s Intelligent Deployment solutions to speed up network upgrades. Drones and Lidar-based 3D technology are collecting high-definition imagery and data across 70 different sites to deliver a more digitalized and efficient network deployment.   To stay up to date on the latest, trends, innovations, people news and company updates within the global security market please register to receive our newsletter here. partnership

A new partnership cutting access costs by 93%

Tech-enabled mobile security service provider, The Keyholding Company, have a new partnership with disruptive electronic key safe supplier, Keynetics, to shake up traditional keyholding, alarm response and access services by removing the need for external keyholders, saving clients thousands and significantly improving response times. The new offering is part of The Keyholding Company‘s Smart Access service, a range of smart lock solutions for businesses that utilises cloud-connected devices to streamline mobile security and access management. The collaboration uses Keynetics’ SentriKey lock box, the only key safe in the UK approved for use in commercial properties, to store keys on-site and at the point of need. This hardware is combined with The Keyholding Company’s technology used by their extensive nationwide network of response officers. When an alarm is triggered through the partnership’s integration, the best placed response officer automatically receives alarm response job information and a unique one-time access code for the SentriKey key safe at the property, via their mobile app. This enables the responder to travel directly to the alarm activation without collecting keys from a key vault, slashing alarm response times. This solution also removes the need for external keyholders, as physical keys are kept on-site within the SentriKey lock box. The partnership calculates that businesses could save up to 93% on their keyholding and third-party access service costs by implementing this new combined offering. The Keyholding Company’s CEO, Charlie Gordon Lennox, views the partnership as a key step towards more intelligent and client-centric mobile security services. “Partnerships like ours are essential for the industry to continue innovating and pushing the boundaries. I’m looking forward to delivering a faster, more reliable and more valuable service to our clients with the help of the Keynetics team.” Alongside improving response times and cutting costs, this new addition to the Smart Access solution also: · Remote access: Streamlines third-party and contractor access by enabling completely remote access management through The Keyholding Company’s Smart Security Platform · Lower carbon: Reduces carbon emissions by decreasing the number of journeys spent collecting keys · Easy installation. Has a fast installation time that requires no hard-wiring · Accreditation: Utilises Keynetics’ LPS 1175 accredited SentriKey hardware, a burglary resistance specification that includes rigorous attack tests with a variety of weapons from power tools to hacksaws.   Keynetics’ Managing Director, Stuart Wheeler, is also confident of the partnership and the opportunities it brings. “We are thrilled to be joining forces with The Keyholding Company who are renowned for being at the forefront of developing smarter, tech-led security solutions. Our highly accredited SentriKey lockbox combined with their expert mobile security services has the power to become a real game-changer for the industry.” Smart Access pricing starts at just £17 per month which includes installation and maintenance.   To stay up to date on the latest, trends, innovations, people news and company updates within the global security market please register to receive our newsletter here. NICE

NICE investigate digital evidence management helps UK retail businesses reduce crime

The volume of data necessary to solve crimes continues to rise across the UK and sharing information quickly is instrumental in solving cases. With this in mind, NICE announced that its NICE Investigate Digital Evidence Management solution is now helping connect businesses and police forces. NICE Investigate enables them to work collaboratively on investigations to speed the delivery of justice, by ensuring fast, seamless sharing of CCTV video and other digital evidence. Two major UK retailers have already embraced the initiative by registering their thousands of CCTV cameras with the NICE Investigate system. The initiative is being driven in part by the National Business Crime Centre, a UK resource created out of Home Office Police Transformation Funding to improve the partnership between the business community and police. Boots, the largest pharmacy health and beauty chain in the UK with 2,336 stores, is among the first retailers to join, along with a large UK supermarket chain. When businesses register with NICE Investigate, they’re able to easily share videos with participating UK police forces. Currently, 15 UK police forces and organizations, including Hampshire Constabulary, are actively using the NICE solution to manage digital evidence and conduct investigations. Iona Blake, Security and Incident Manager, Boots explained, “We have a large number of stores with both internal and external CCTV cameras for investigating all types of crimes and incidents. The addition of the NICE Investigate technology allows Boots to engage in the right level of data sharing with local police forces. For us, it’s all about how can we get better at reporting crimes. In addition to improving efficiency and saving time, this program has really changed the dynamic of our relationship with the police. Boots may be the first to use the NICE platform, but I’m sure we will not be the last as more retailers and police forces come on stream.” Patrick Holdaway, Superintendent at City of London Police and Lead for the National Business Crime Centre said, “NICE Investigate provides a great opportunity for police forces and businesses to work together to ensure the swift collection of evidence allowing the police to bring offenders to justice as effectively as possible.” Chris Wooten, Executive Vice President, NICE, stated, “The need for businesses and police forces to work together is greater than ever. The volume of crime is rising and getting digital evidence into the hands of police investigators can be a time consuming, drawn out, manual process, requiring officers to travel to the business location to copy and collect the evidence. With lean budgets and forces short-staffed, time is limited. NICE Investigate helps businesses and police forces break through this log-jam by removing the time-consuming manual processes.”   To stay up to date on the latest, trends, innovations, people news and company updates within the global security market please register to receive our newsletter here.
