Mind the gap – Upskilling fire systems installers, ECS card changes and FESS on Thursday 19th May, 10:45am – 11:25am

As the skills gap remains an issue for those installing fire and security systems, how will the changes to ECS card requirements support the push for improved competency standards?

LPCB Attack Testing Zone

Technicians from the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) will put a range of security doors, perimeter fencing, shutters and covers to the test by attacking them with hammers, wire cutters and other handheld tools at IFSEC 2022.

The LPCB, which is part of BRE Global, has worked with industry and insurers for more than a century to set the standards needed to ensure that fire and security products and services perform effectively.

Burnished by third-party certification LPCB’s Loss Prevention Standards (LPS) are widely recognised and applied in fire and security sectors around the world. At the LCPB Attack Testing Zone LPCB technicians will put non-approved products to the test alongside LPCB-approved alternatives that have achieved a minimum of LPS 1175 SR-3 compliance.

The results should demonstrate starkly the difference in quality between approved and unapproved versions of security products.
