Exacq makes searching for video evidence faster with SpeedSearch

exacq-logoExacq Technologies, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, has made searching for video surveillance evidence faster and more intuitive with the new SpeedSearch feature in exacqVision 6.0—the latest release of the company’s Video Management System (VMS) software. exacqVision now also makes it easier to configure IP compatible cameras from the exacqVision client. Included with this release are updates to the Exacq Mobile app, the exacqVision web client and Enterprise System Manager (ESM), a health monitoring program for use with exacqVision NVRs.

With SpeedSearch, video frames automatically populate on the screen upon conducting a search and advance as the timeline cursor is moved. “SpeedSearch allows users to start investigating video while it’s still downloading, providing faster access to the evidence they need,” notes Tom Buckley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Exacq Technologies. “It’s also ideal for low bandwidth connections as investigations can occur without having to wait for an entire video stream to download.”

With the release of version 6.0, the exacqVision VMS now supports over 1,800 IP camera models from the industry’s leading manufacturers including ACTi, American Dynamics, Arecont Vision, Axis Communications, Bosch, Canon, IQinvision, JVC, Panasonic, Pelco, Samsung, Sony and Vivotek. The exacqVision VMS software and servers also integrate with access control systems, retail analytics and video analytics systems, allowing professional integrators and end users to create a complete, best-of-breed IP video surveillance solution.

The latest Exacq Mobile app (Version 3.4) allows users to search multiple cameras simultaneously from the same screen. In addition, users can now browse all available cameras from multiple servers on one list or browse cameras arranged by server. The ability to view de-warped video from panoramic or fisheye cameras has also been added to this latest release.

The exacqVision Enterprise Server Manager (ESM) allows users to maximize the uptime of large exacqVision deployments while reducing overall administrator maintenance time. The latest release of ESM (Version 2.4) adds the ability to easily track the days of storage available on exacqVision servers. It also adds a new interactive help guide, which explains all of the monitoring features available within the system.

The exacqVision VMS is accessed with the freely distributed exacqVision client software (Windows/Linux/Mac), the exacqVision free web client available for all leading web browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera), as well as the free Exacq Mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 devices. The VMS software is included with pre-configured exacqVision NVR servers or it can be installed on third-party Windows or Linux based systems.
