Fire Extinguisher registration also means yet another Gold Award

securiguard-sndSecuri-Guard has successfully gained registration for its fire extinguisher maintenance service from BAFE, the independent organisation dedicated to improving standards in fire protection – and landed another gold award in the process!

In gaining the BAFE registration, the company has also attained a gold standard for its fire extinguisher service from the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) which carried out the audit process on the company.

It is the ninth service offered by the Plymouth–based fire and security specialist to be accredited under NSI Gold standard.

The official recognition also means the company has the most services to be accredited to Gold standard of any NSI member company in the South West, covering its fire and security, as well as its monitoring and guarding services.

Fire and Security Systems Manager Bob Trusedale said the achievement was recognition of the tremendous amount of hard work the whole team had put into preparing for the audit process.

“We are delighted that Securi-Guard’s fire extinguisher service has been recognised by two of our key industry organisations,” said Bob.

“They have been able to see first-hand the dedication and commitment of our maintenance and installation teams and the close attention they all pay to ensuring the customer receives the highest standards of service and support.”

During the audit process the NSI visited the company’s clients to assess the standards of both the installation of equipment, and how it is maintained and serviced by the team of engineers. The office systems and protocols covering the service were also assessed as part of the process.

Securi-Guard has always been committed to attaining the highest standards of industry accreditation across all its services.

Recently Bob Truesdale was among seven members of the Securi-Guard team who took a four day fire extinguisher course run by Fire Extinguisher Training Associates Ltd on behalf of the Fire Industry Association.

The training was a crucial step in gaining accreditation for the maintenance of fire extinguishers by BAFE, the independent organisation dedicated to improving standards in fire protection.

He was joined by Service Manager Adam Callaghan, Install Engineers Jamie Carr and Tony Bowd, Service Engineer Rob Jones, Business Development Manager Paul Hands and Mobile Patrol Officer Colin Bevan, who volunteered to put himself through the course so he could try and further his career with the company.

During an intensive three days training, followed by an examination, all the delegates learned theory and practical skills of carrying out servicing and maintenance of a number of portable extinguisher types.
