VPS wins Security Excellence Award
The UK’s leading vacant property and security specialist, VPS, has capped a spectacular year by winning “Large Security Installer 2015” at the prestigious IFSEC Security and Fire Excellence Awards, held last night.
In their 17th year, the Security Excellence Awards have consistently broken new ground in highlighting the very best people, projects and processes the UK’s security sector has to offer. The high calibre Judging Panel – including representatives from all areas of security & fire, the world of academia and the policing sector – decided this year’s Winners, who were announced at the Awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane on November 25th.
The winning entry included a case study of how VPS, on instruction from the administrators EY, secured 51 CityLink depots stretching from Aberdeen to Southampton, all on New Year’s Eve.
Their sister company, VPS Site Security, were also shortlisted as ‘Installation of the Year’ for their innovative construction security and traffic monitoring project for the Costain Heads of Valleys road improvement scheme, which linked 17 JCB Smart Towers wirelessly along a 14 km stretch of highway in South Wales.
Earlier this year, VPS Site Security was a finalist in the British Construction Industry Awards for product Innovation for the Building Sector and won the UK Corporate Excellence in Construction Innovation.
VPS secure more than 50,000 properties and employ over 1600 staff in locations across the UK and mainland Europe. They specialise in securing, maintaining and managing vacant property across a wide range of customer and industry sectors.
Core building services cover the vacant, unoccupied and void property lifecycle from an initial risk assessment, to security, including guarding, monitoring, clearing, cleaning, maintenance and preparation. These services protect properties against unauthorised access and a variety of hazards such as arson, theft, squatting and unauthorised occupation.
