Kingdom achieves record score in annual SIA ACS audit
Once again Kingdom has increased their overall accreditation score in their annual SIA (Security Industry Authority) ACS (Approved Contractor Scheme) assessment. In what is an absolutely superb result, Kingdom has been awarded an incredible score of +167, breaking last year’s record score of +161.
The maximum overall score that can be achieved is currently +174, so Kingdom’s score places them right at the very top of what is possible and means they are one of the very best security companies in the entire country.
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry. It is an independent body reporting to the Home Office and it has two main duties. The first is the compulsory licensing of individuals undertaking designated activities within the private security industry. The other is to manage the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS). This was established by the SIA to form a set of operational and performance standards for private security companies, measuring them against independently assessed criteria.
The objective of the Approved Contractor Scheme, according to their website, is to “raise performance standards and to assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities.” It gives organisations the opportunity to distinguish themselves as being among the best providers of private security services in the UK, and thus gives their clients confidence and trust in them.
To be accredited under the scheme, security companies must voluntarily submit themselves for annual inspection by one of five UKAS inspection bodies appointed by the SIA to carry out the task. They are then assessed and given a score. They must achieve a score of at least zero (which is considered to be a satisfactory score) to receive ACS accreditation.
Kingdom has just had this annual inspection, with site visit assessments carried out from the 13th to the 16th September 2016, and head office assessments carried out from the 12th to the 19th September 2016. For the first time, Kingdom’s regional offices in Scotland and Northern Ireland were inspected by the auditor who found the quality to be of an exceptional standard. We are delighted to report that no improvements were needed in order to meet the requirements of the ACS Standard.
Commenting on the fantastic result, Kingdom’s CEO Terry Barton BA (Hons) said:
“The work to secure such a score is the result of 12 months hard work by a fantastic Kingdom team. It is also a worthy reward because of the effort our leadership team put in pre audit and during the week of audit. Securing an ACS score that high does not come easy but continues to demonstrate, and more importantly evidence, what a great business Kingdom is and the 6,500 people within it. The score received makes me personally very proud of the business we have ALL built and the great successes we have had since inception in 1993.”
Kingdom remains steadfast in its “commitment to quality” (C2Q) by embracing five key components: Safety, Health, Environment, Service and Outcomes.
