Raven set to keep Ryder Cup on par

Raven, the real time incident management tool, will ensure all the drama at this year’s Ryder Cup takes place on the fairway.

Developed by Scottish resilience and crisis management experts ID Resilience, Raven’s innovative technology means that anything from a fall in the rough to a disaster scenario can be professionally logged, managed and resolved through the platform in real time.

The software, also used across 30 venues at this year’s European Championships in Glasgow, has earned plaudits from security, emergency services and events professionals for facilitating joint situational awareness through its mobile capabilities and use of real time data.

Whereas previously organisers have relied on a combination of notepads and spreadsheets to keep track of incidents occurring at events, Raven streamlines the process allowing a host of accidents, emergencies and security situations to be recorded through the same app.

Accessible on mobile devices, the mission critical software enables event personnel to report situations such as medical incidents without returning to a control room, satisfying health and safety requirements whilst keeping key figures in the field, engaged with the event.

Taking place this weekend at the beautiful Le Golf National in Paris, The Ryder Cup will be the first deployment of Raven overseas. The European Tour will implement the tool so that all areas of its event management network are linked, making sure guests, staff and golfers are kept safe at all times. Attendees can enjoy the action safe in the knowledge that they’re protected by one of the most advanced incident management system in the world.

Ahead of tee off, Raven’s managing director, Ian Kerr said: “Raven ensures that those working across the incident management network are equipped to handle all scenarios. By enabling operatives on the ground to report incidents whilst on the move, Raven keeps all safety, security and key members of event delivery  informed with up to the minute data ensuring fast, effective responses. For major events like the Ryder Cup, this is crucial to handling any disruption competently and efficiently.”

Working previously as a counter terrorism officer, Kerr built Raven to bring incident management into the present day. By ditching the pens and pads Kerr aims to digitise the tools necessary for having a robust incident management policy.
