ABUS Security-Center received the Protector Award in gold for the Secvest 2WAY wireless alarm system at the SicherheitsExpo trade fair in Munich. It came top of the field in the readers’ poll, beating off competition from 118 products from 78 companies.
Security solutions that bridge the gap between mechanical and electronic security are very popular both with consumers as well as professionals. This was shown by awarding the ‘Golden Protector 2013’, with the same name as the security trade magazine, to ABUS for the Secvest 2WAY wireless alarm system. Besides the classic detectors and alarm functions, the Secvest 2WAY has unique mechatronic window and additional door locks – and is thus one of the most effective ways to prevent an attempted burglary. When attempting to pry open a window or a door, this preventive detector sounds the alarm immediately, while resisting the burglar with a force of more than 1 tonne. Thieves don’t stand a chance.
“Developing and producing networked security products is one of the core competencies of the ABUS Group. Winning the Golden Protector for the Secvest 2WAY wireless alarm system encourages and motivates us to continue along this path,” explains Marco Schmitt, Sales Director for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at ABUS Security-Center.
For the 40th anniversary of Protector, the prestigious trade magazine, the Protector Award was awarded for the first time this year for outstanding products in the field of security technology. The highest award in each of the three categories of “Hazard detection technology”, “Video surveillance” and “Access control” is the “Golden Protector”.
The core readership of the trade magazine and the users of the online security portal Sicherheit.info were eligible to vote, including installers, architects and journalists. A total of 4,500 votes were received for 118 products submitted by 78 companies. After counting all the votes, the ABUS Secvest 2WAY wireless alarm system received first place in the category of “Hazard detection technology
