Acronis and Cloud Distribution deliver disaster recovery

Acronis, the global leader in new generation data protection, announced a partner agreement with valued-added distributor, Cloud Distribution, to address the rising data protection needs and concerns in the United Kingdom.

Under terms of the agreement, Cloud Distribution’s cloud resellers can now sell Acronis Disaster Recovery Services (DRaaS) in the UK market. Acronis Disaster Recovery Service provides a cost-effective, all-in-one backup and disaster recovery solution that keeps businesses up and running in the event of data loss and disasters.

According to Gartner, the global DRaaS market is worth $1.3 billion today with a 30% annual growth rate (CAGR), and is expected to exceed the size of the traditional disaster recovery market by 2018. For businesses, costs related to man-made and natural disasters can be significant. According to Ponemon[1], the average cost of an unplanned data centre outage in the UK is over £5,000 per minute, a 41 per cent increase since 2010. Most of this cost is calculated on the value of the mission-critical data that is lost.

Acronis allows Cloud Distribution and its partners to tap into this growing market need and revenue opportunity by selling an easy, complete, and affordable DRaaS solution. Acronis Disaster Recovery Service protects and restores data and fails over servers or entire data centres suffering from an outage. The solution features built-in automation that significantly reduces the total cost of ownership for customers, including regular automated testing in a virtual private environment that allows businesses to stay up and running at all times and rely on less IT staff.

Acronis Delivers Complete Data Protection
Acronis is focused on providing companies with complete data protection through an integrated set of solutions, including backup, disaster recovery and file sync & share. Acronis solutions enable protection and recovery of any data from any location and provide cloud resellers and end users with complete control of where data is stored.

Acronis delivers end users data safety by backing up data with the ability to recover in minutes, data security to protect companies from outside threats, and data privacy to ensure that they stay in control of their data at all times – in transit, on mobile devices and in the cloud. To achieve this, Acronis leverages a highly flexible and open architecture that supports easy integration with leading 3rd party solutions, the latest global encryption standards, including AES256, and private and secure search.

All Acronis solutions are powered by the Acronis AnyData Engine – a set of unique, deep, and powerful data protection technologies that capture, store, recover, control, and access any data from any location.

“As the cloud market continues to grow at an exponential rate, organisations need to ensure they are fully-prepared for every eventuality when it comes to the loss of data. By working closely with Acronis and offering a next generation disaster recovery service, our VARs are better positioned to address rising data security needs and concerns within the workplace, helping simplify their customers’ disaster recovery implementation plans,” explains Grant Reddin, director of storage sales, at Cloud Distribution.

Jeff Hart, regional sales director UK and Ireland at Acronis comments:

“We selected Cloud Distribution for its strong commercial understanding of the disaster recovery space, as well as its proven track record in recruiting knowledgeable vendors. Moving forward they will play an important role in strengthening our market reach and ability to provide superior service to our customers in the UK market.”
