Adams Rite, a part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions and a leading supplier of door hardware to aluminium systems providers, has teamed up with Coastal Windows to deliver door opening solutions for the a new care facility in Somerset.

Located in Martock, the new home will provide care and nursing facilities to over 45 people suffering from dementia.

Built with advice from the Somerset Wildlife Trust in order to compliment the environment, the new home is being built to be wildlife friendly, with a special ‘sedum’ roof incorporated in the innovative, one storey design.

Representing Coastal Windows’ first major SAPA system project, the installation has seen over 50 doors fitted with Adams Rite’s Ultraline 7400 Electric Strikes and 4591 Paddle Handles.

The special requirements of supplying a door package to a nursing home application have led to two electric strikes and back-to-back paddle handles being fitted onto each door, both of with can be operated remotely.

Adams Rite 4750 Heavy Duty Deadlatches and 960 Panic Bars were also used at the facility to provide high levels of auxiliary safety and security, while the DC250 cam action closers allow accessibility for the elderly and frail.

Richard Lawes, Regional Sales Manager for Adams Rite, added:

“In supplying hardware to this new facility we have been able to work with Coastal Windows, utilising its 40 years of experience in developing door systems, to supply door opening solutions that meet unique safety and security considerations.”

Adams Rite is the leading supplier of aluminium door locking, electric locking and escape devices, supplying the top OEM door manufacturers worldwide. The company is part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions.
