Manufacturer of door entry systems, Comelit Group UK, has supplied a door entry system for a major new Barratt Homes development in the fashionable borough of Islington, right next door to Emirates Stadium, the home of Arsenal football club. Queensland Terrace comprises 375 new homes and includes studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, most with balcony or terrace and many with breath- taking views towards Canary Wharf and the City. The developer required a system that was easy to install and one capable of connecting all 375 users from the three individual tower blocks to a centrally managed 24-hour concierge. Comelit’s leading 2-wire Simplebus technology was ideal for the project and was also the system of choice for specialist London-based electronic installation company, RJK Security.
Versatile technology with a sleek design
Each tower has its own black Ikall digital video entrance panel, integrated proximity reader and audio/video unit with a dedicated call button for two-way communication with the central concierge. A large colour LCD display, the ability to upload names via a USB port and a touch-sensitive keypad make the Ikall a firm favourite among architects and developers looking for versatile technology with a sleek design.
Internally, each apartment, including the concierge desk, has a flush-mounted black Planux Lux video monitor with 3.5” colour display and glass cover, offering residents touch-sensitive technology, full-duplex hands-free functions and melody customisation.

Reductions in installation times
