Bewica and Police Digital Security Centre partner

The Police Digital Security Centre (Police DSC) and Bewica have joined forces to make it very easy for any business to reduce its risk and prevent cyber attacks. By embedding Police DSC’s Digitally Aware cyber assessment into Bewica’s security platform, small businesses are supported in their journey towards certified cybersecurity.

With cyber crime increasing by a staggering 600% during the current Covid-19 pandemic, investing in cyber security has never been more important for businesses.  Small businesses are increasingly being targeted with over one in three experiencing an attack in the last 12 months.

Digitally Aware has been developed by the Police DSC in collaboration with BSI (British Standards Institution). It is an assessment which gives small businesses an opportunity to test their resilience to the most common types of cyber crime, as well as providing resources that can help them improve their cyber security. It has been designed to be the first step for micro and small businesses on their cyber security journey.

Bewica helps small businesses, schools and charities protect themselves from the increasing digital risks by making cybersecurity simple.

Digitally Aware is now integrated into Bewica’s platform, making it easy for businesses to assess their security risk, fill any identified gaps with Bewica’s automated tools and obtain the Digitally Aware certificate to evidence their security to their clients and stakeholders.

”80% of cyberattacks could be prevented with simple measures. The Digitally Aware assessment hones in on those priority measures. It is the core level of security every business should have. We could therefore not be more delighted to be partnering with Police DSC. Together, we are able to give businesses focus and practical help”, Eva Berg-Winters, CEO of Bewica, said of the partnership.

Michelle Kradolfer, Police DSC, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Bewica and collaborating together on providing SMEs with a tool that incorporates the best of both worlds, our Digitally Aware assessment and Bewica’s cyber protection platform. We share the same goal in wanting to help SMEs start their cyber security journey by providing them with easy and simple tools to strengthen their cyber security posture and reduce their vulnerability to cyber crime. Now more than ever SMEs need all the support that they can get to recover and we are excited to be embarking on this journey with Bewica.”

The Police DSC is a not-for-profit organisation, owned by the police, which works across the UK in partnership with industry, government, academia and law enforcement with the aim of reducing the vulnerability of organisations to cybercrime and fraud.

London-based Bewica makes it easy for businesses, schools and charities to protect themselves from digital risks. Its award-winning cyber security solution consists of two levels. Level 1, for any business, comprises the Digitally Aware assessment. It comes with tools such as phishing training and an interactive IT security policy to fill any gaps towards achieving the Digitally Aware certificate. Level 2, for businesses wanting to go further, offers ongoing security monitoring and alerts as well as tools and support to achieve higher levels of email, website and supplier security.
