Bradbury Group call for support in European Business Awards
Recently awarded the status of National Champion in the European Business Awards 2015/16, Scunthorpe based manufacturer the Bradbury Group are calling for support in the next stage of the competition. Nominated as an ‘RSM Entrepreneur of the Year,’ Bradbury Group are among the businesses from across Europe vying to be selected as one of 32 National Public Champions.
Bradbury Group is the life’s work of Chairman Tim Strawson, who in 20 years has transformed a business purchased for £3000 into a multi-million pound manufacturing company which employs nearly 200 people.
Commenting on Bradbury’s nomination, Tim said:
“It would be an honour for us to be named a National Champion against such strong competition, as the award criteria really echoes Bradbury’s core values of innovation, excellence and ethics. Winning this award would boost our standing in the European marketplace and help us work towards our goals for further expansion.”
In the last five years, Group turnover has quadrupled to nearly £18 million and profits re-invested back into the Scunthorpe site, helping the company sustainably grow to become the UK’s largest manufacturer of steel security doors, grilles and cages. The group manufacture an extensive portfolio of LPS1175 SR1, 2, 3 & 4 certified products for an impressive range of clients including McDonalds, Scottish & Southern Energy, Telefonica and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
Strawson has also established Youth Engineering, a charitable enterprise committed to providing career opportunities for long term unemployed young people in the North Lincolnshire area. 2014 saw the launch of the Bradbury Academy which provides workplace based training and funded NVQ’s to develop Bradbury’s next generation of engineers.
