BSIA appoints Peter Jack to Technical Officer role

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has announced the appointment of Peter Jack as the Association’s new Technical Officer.

Jack joined the organisation on 24 July and brings with him a wealth of experience from an impressive career history including 23 years in the Royal Navy as an Information Systems specialist and a further 14 years as a Technical Project Manager, the BSIA said.

During this time, Jack built a wide scope of experience of particular value to his role at the BSIA, including operations, IT and technical management, facilities, maintenance, security, CCTV, fire, intruder, access control, compliance, health and safety and space planning.

Most recently, he was Deputy Director for a large team in the delivery of operational activities within the context of a major listed building in central London, responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery, with particular emphasis on fire and evacuation, the company said.

The BSIA’s Director of Technical Services, David Wilkinson, commented: “We are very pleased to welcome Peter to the team, and look forward to enabling our members to benefit from his extensive expertise in a number of relevant industry sectors, particularly the growing  sphere of cyber security and its impact on connected products.”

Commenting on his appointment, Peter Jack added: “I’m delighted to be joining the BSIA at what is an exciting time for the private security industry, with a number of challenging projects and developments afoot. I am looking forward to getting stuck into my new role and supporting BSIA members to ensure they’re ahead of the game in meeting these challenges.”
