Exploring circumstances where a mechanical solution would be better suited than an electronic system and the considerations to be taken into account. Also, clarification of patent protection law with regard to high security key systems. Clive Baker, KABA.

11.20 – 11:40 Case Study. The design and operation of a high security mechanical master keyed system in the high value retail sector. Nathan Bray, Graff Diamonds.

11:40 – 12:20 Progression from Mechanical Locking into Access Control. Examining the benefits of integrating mechanical and electronic security systems; coupled to the latest developments in media technology (e.g. RFID, Biometrics). John Hardman, KABA.

12:20 – 12:55 Flexibility and Application of Revolving Doors, Interlocks, Turnstiles and Barriers. Considering specifications and the balance of aesthetics, security and emergency egress factors. Clive Baker, KABA.

12:55 – 13:10 ‘Round-Up’ and Questions and Answers.

13:10 – 13:15 Close – Allan Hildage, Chairman, Association of Security Consultants.

13.15 – 14.15 Drinks followed by Buffet Luncheon – and a great opportunity to follow-up with the speakers and to extend professional networks in a convivial setting.
