ONVIF’s Chairman Holds Interoperability Presentation At IFSEC

Chairman Holds Interoperability Presentation At IFSEC ONVIF’s Chairman Holds Interoperability Presentation At IFSEC San Ramon, CA – May 4, 2010. ONVIF, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, participates in IFSEC’s conference programme 2010. Jonas Andersson, Chairman of ONVIF, will hold a presentation with focus on the benefits and challenges of interoperability. This year, the IFSEC conference programme offers three days of valuable knowledge sharing, where the presentations reflect current trends and developments within the security market. One of these trends is the convergence from analog to digital security systems, which has created a great need for standardization of IP-based security products. “Without a global standard, end users and integrators will always need to consider the need for extra integration work before making their final decision regarding system components for their security solution,” says Jonas Andersson at Axis Communications and Chairman of ONVIF’s steering committee. “A global standard makes it easier for everyone as it ensures interoperability between the products regardless of brand.” Since the launch of ONVIF in 2008, the organization has attracted more than 180 member companies, reflecting the great market interest for interoperability and standardization. “There is a constant need to educate the market on these topics and by participating at events such as IFSEC we make the knowledge easily available to the right target groups,” says Jonas Andersson. The title of the presentation is “Interoperability: business benefits and challenges” and it will be held in conjunction with IFSEC in Birmingham, UK, on Wednesday, May 12th at 10:05 a.m.
