CLIQ® Remote shortlisted for 2017 Housing Innovation Awards

CLIQ® Remote from ASSA, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, has been shortlisted as ‘Most Innovative New Product’ in the 2017 Housing Innovation Awards.

An electromechanical cylinder offering effective key management while protecting against potential security risks, CLIQ Remote® is transforming access control in the social housing sector.

The technology allows housing organisations to give key holders – regardless of location – remote access to a property. Each key can be programmed and updated individually, which means key holders have access only to the areas relevant to them and during their allocated time or dates.

CLIQ® Remote is also reducing the time empty properties stand vacant between tenancies. By eliminating the need for physical key handovers, CLIQ® Remote technology removes workflow delays, ensuring maintenance staff or contractors are able to access void properties as and when needed.

Social housing organisations can also dramatically increase their potential to collect additional rent and council tax, due to quicker re-let times and improved working practices.

Simon Wilson, National Sales Manager for ASSA CLIQ® Remote, said:

“We are thrilled that CLIQ® Remote is shortlisted for ‘Most Innovative New Product’ at the 2017 Housing Innovation Awards. The system offers a secure and flexible solution, helping organisations to streamline their workflow, while also providing a full audit trail and protecting assets from potential security risks.

“According to the Department for Communities and Local Government, housing associations and local authorities own five million homes in the UK. Around 610,000 of these homes are empty, accounting for more than 12 per cent of total stock. This has huge implications for councils, including loss of rental income, increased potential for crime and other security threats, not to mention missed opportunities for would-be tenants to take advantage of safe and secure housing.

“One example of CLIQ® Remote’s success in the social housing sector is Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC). Since being implemented 12 months ago, CLIQ® Remote is saving staff approximately 40 hours of time every week due to improved operational efficiencies, while delivering an additional £60,000 a year to RMBC in rent and council tax from properties that would have otherwise remained empty for longer.”

The Housing Innovation Awards take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London, on 8 February 2017. To find out more, visit http://www.housinginnovationawards.co.uk
