CSI Safetell First To Pass New Government Certification

CSI Safetell’s blast resistant doors have achieved the top level of certification in new Government tests – meaning that CSI Safetell is now the only UK door solutions provider offering steel doors certified to the latest standard.

The CSI Safetell ‘Stronghold Plus’ blast resistant door was put through its paces by Government appointed experts at a secure specialist facility in the North of England during September 2014 and passed with exceptional performance, achieving a designation of ‘Minimum Risk – Very High Protection’. Testing to the Government’s new standards involves withstanding 500kgs of explosive from 28 metres, equivalent to an explosion associated with a lorry packed full of explosives and then detonated 28 metres from a target.

The Stronghold Plus door has now been entered on to the Government’s supplier register for blast resistant solutions. The door is also bullet resistant, intrusion resistant, and has a four hour fire rating to BS476 (Part 22).

Terrorism and criminal selection of softer targets are driving the need for improved protection, including blast resistant doors, commented Safetell Managing Director Anton Pieterse. “The Stronghold Plus door is an obvious choice for buildings that may be at risk; and can offer additional protection against bullets, intrusion and fire.”
