Gallagher recognised for its contribution to homeland security

gallagher logoGallagher – the internationally renowned expert in the provision of access control and security systems technology – has won the title for ‘Best Perimeter Protection Product/System’ at the Government Security News (GSN) 2013 Homeland Security Awards .

Now in its fifth year, the GSN awards programme recognises companies that have displayed excellence in delivering unique products to federal, state, county and municipal government agencies. The expert judging panel selected Gallagher’s Integrated Perimeter Security System from a competitive field of hundreds of applicants, highlighting the product’s ability to simultaneously reduce costs, increase efficiency, improve security and provide an innovative solution that offers excess capacity to address future organisational requirements.

Gallagher’s comprehensive technology – employed throughout a number of sites across America including; South West Florida Water Works, Birmingham Water and a number of high security sites – was commended for its seamless integration of perimeter security with access control and related security applications by providing a single, intuitive user interface that centralises command and control functions.

Key features of note include the system’s ability to incorporate GIS mapping within its design, whilst providing policy-based access criteria applicable to perimeter entry locations. This unique feature offers a ‘context-aware’ comprehensive perimeter solution that transcends traditional preconceptions of security as ‘just a barrier’. Additional benefits, which have previously fallen outside of the security envelope, include data management and amenities management.

Gallagher’s victory at the GSN awards builds upon its growing success within the security sector following its recent triumph at Govsec 2013 where the company’s Command Centre Personal Identity Verification (PIV) solution received the Platinum Award for access control . “Recent successes at a number of award ceremonies underpin the growing momentum that is gathering behind Gallagher’s products”, said Global Marketing Manager Anna Greenhill . “Such accolades provide independent verification from within the access control and perimeter protection community that Gallagher’s extensive knowledge of the security market, along with its expertise in secure data management and systems integration is second to none”.
