GJD celebrates fundraising success
It is an annual tradition for ‘Team GJD’ to battle it out over a 1200m karting circuit for six hours, to help raise money for Down Syndrome Extra 21 charity (DSE21). This race is the main fund raising event of the year for DSE21 and was held at Buckmore Park, Kent on Saturday 2nd May 2015.
The event was a fantastic success as 24 teams battled it out in the annual charity endurance kart race. Nearly £10,000 was raised by the end of the day for DSE21 and £675.00 was raised by GJD.
Paul Tibbenham, GJD’s Trainee Manager headed up ‘Team GJD’ who finished 4th. An excellent result considering the team suffered a technical problem part way through the race, requiring their kart to be changed.
Greg Stuttle, Business Development Manager at GJD raced with his son Tom in team ‘Jeremy Kartson’, who finished 7th. Two other teams who took part were from Full Stop Fire and Security in Enfield, who are customers of GJD.
GJD celebrates fundraising success, money raised for the charity is used to help people with Down Syndrome to live full and rewarding lives. The main objectives of the charity are to promote equal opportunities for people with Down syndrome and offer support to them and their families. To promote public awareness of Down’s Syndrome and to encourage local support groups.
