Heald, the Yorkshire based manufacturer of hostile vehicle mitigation systems that protect some of the world’s most high profile buildings from vehicle attacks, has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer category at the Outstanding Security Performance Awards 2022 (OSPAs).
From their HQ in Hornsea, East Yorkshire, Heald operates on a global scale with over 70% of its products being exported overseas. Countries Heald has products installed in include the UK, USA, Norway, the Netherlands, Singapore, Australia, Jordan. High profile installs include Beale Street – (Memphis) USA, Surfers Paradise – (Queensland) Australia, Avinor Airport – (Oslo) Norway, Leicester Square – London and the Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant – Singapore.
The business offers a range of innovative road-blockers and bollards, most of which are patented, to reduce the devastation caused by vehicle attacks, a growing threat on both home soil and across the world. In the past two years the firm has brought a number of new products to market including the Synergy which has been designed specifically for bridges and inner city locations, where excavation proves a challenge, following a spate of high profile bridge attacks.
Heald’s ongoing growth and success has resulted in the business being among seven companies shortlisted for the Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer category this year.
This award shortlist comes following a number of recent award successes including winning the International Trade category at the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards 2021, the Export award at the Made In Yorkshire Awards 2021 and the Companies turning over up to £10m award at the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards.
The OSPAs recognise and reward companies and individuals across the security sector. They are designed to be both independent and inclusive, providing an opportunity for outstanding performers, whether buyers or suppliers, to be recognised and their success to be celebrated.
The Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer award recognises an outstanding manufacturer of products that service the security market. Manufacturers of any security product in any market were permitted to enter. The winner of this OSPA will have shown incredible performance in manufacturing a security product, which has produced clear beneficial results for customers.
Winners will be announced on February 24 2022 at a black-tie dinner to be hosted by quiz-master, presenter and stand-up comedian Paul Sinha at the Royal Lancaster Hotel London.
Managing Director Debbie Heald MBE commented on the shortlisting, “I’m thrilled that Heald has been recognised in the OSPA awards in the Outstanding Security Equipment Manufacturer category. We have worked extremely hard over the last 18 months to continue growing and bringing new products to market at a rapid pace. We are overjoyed that this has resulted in being recognised at such a prestigious awards ceremony.
“I’m very much looking forward to celebrating at the awards ceremony alongside the best business across our industry.”
