Hexis Cyber Solutions releases HawkEye G 3.1

Expanded platform support and capabilities strengthen next generation endpoint security

Hexis Cyber Solutions Inc. (Hexis), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The KEYW Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: KEYW), and a provider of advanced cybersecurity solutions for commercial companies and government agencies, announced significant enhancements to its integrated cybersecurity platform, HawkEye G. The new capabilities extend HawkEye G’s next generation endpoint detection and response (EDR) capabilities to support Microsoft’s Windows 10 and Red Hat Linux and CentOS environments.

Extended platform coverage is critical for next generation endpoint protection

Since Microsoft’s official Windows 10 unveiling in July 2015, industry analysts have identified approximately 1.5 million Windows 10 Enterprise users. With Microsoft’s plans of bringing Windows 10 to a billion devices by 2017, having next generation security capabilities for this platform will become increasingly critical.

Linux also continues to gain strong adoption, particularly within corporate data centre environments. With HawkEye G 3.1, enterprises can extend next generation threat detection and response capabilities to Red Hat and CentOS environments.

Expanded countermeasures improve automated incident response capabilities

As cybercriminals continue to develop malicious techniques for targeted attacks, end-user organisations must look for a cyber defence platform that not only offers strong detection but also the ability to respond to threats. HawkEye G offers a vast array of countermeasures that can be flexibly deployed in automated or machine-guided mode.

HawkEye G 3.1 adds a new countermeasure that enables users to remediate registry keys that can otherwise act as persistent points of entry for threat actors. This new countermeasure also includes the ability to “undo” registry key removal. This safeguard, similar to an “undo” feature, enables security analysts to reverse actions preventing inadvertent impact to endpoints.

“As organisations migrate towards new operating systems such as Windows 10 and they continue to operate heterogeneous platforms, it’s important for organisations’ cyber defense to support these environments” said Chris Carlson, vice president, product management, Hexis Cyber Solutions. “With HawkEye G’s extended platform support and expanded countermeasures, customers can better secure their endpoint and server environments.”
