Gallagher, New Zealand global security leader, has announced plans to expand operations in Thailand to support the developing requirements of ASEAN countries.
CEO of Gallagher, Sir William Gallagher, joined New Zealand’s Prime Minister during the official visit to Bangkok this month, as the company prepares to open an office and further establish its business in the region. The company already supports customers in more than 160 countries globally, and is extending its reach to Thailand and surrounding countries following increasing demand from the Asian market.
Attitudes towards security in the region have been evolving in recent years, with many countries, for example, adopting national identification card systems. This is driven by a requirement for better performance and accuracy throughout business, while the ongoing threat from criminal and terrorist activity has also spurred demand.
Sir William explained: “The on-going growth of the Asian market provides a range of opportunities and prospects for Gallagher. The region, like many others, is developing a new understanding of the importance of comprehensive security systems, which not only ensure the safety of employees at work but vitally reinforcing business continuity. Supported by our growing team and network of channel partners, the company is fully focused on further developing our presence in this innovative and industrious region”.
Asia has also seen a boost in infrastructure projects, supporting the wider economic expansion. Gallagher’s Bangkok office will be open and operational by the end of the year and company is currently recruiting staff to support this activity.
