A Security Supervisor from The Mall in Blackburn has won a prestigious award for leading the way on a host of technology projects to assist staff and the local police.
Gareth Stead Clark is employed by Vision Security Group (VSG) and has worked at the shopping centre for five years, being promoted to Security Supervisor in 2010.
It has been announced he has won the award for Best Use of Technology in the North West heat of the British Security Industry Association’s Regional Security Personnel Awards.
Clark has helped work with Mall management on technological projects to enhance the site’s CCTV system and improve the internal security database management in recent years.
The award-winner stated the technology projects he helped launch were designed to “help make life easier” for The Mall security staff and the local police force.
Ian Fisher, Account Director at VSG, added: “Gareth has gained a wealth of experience since starting at The Mall and has worked extremely hard to ensure he stays abreast of all the latest advancements in the security industry.
“He has taken a very proactive approach to his position, spent time getting to grips with new technology, which has allowed him to apply his expertise across various initiatives.
“The Mall management, CCTV operator colleagues and visiting CCTV engineers have all benefited from Gareth’s knowledge.”
