Loughborough university played a key role in the 2012 Olympic Games, hosting a number of athletes and providing a stage for rehearsals ahead of the Olympic Torch relay. To ensure the campus was completely secure ahead of the universities participation it was deemed necessary to upgrade the existing security systems.
