Reliance high-tech to scale ‘Mt Everest’ in stairs at new Bracknell HQ to fundraise for SSAFA

Reliance High-Tech, the leading independent security systems integrator plans to scale the heights of Mount Everest in stairs at its new headquarters, to fundraise for the SSAFA.

The Everest Challenge will involve the Reliance High-Tech team climbing 29,035 ft (605 ascents of the stairs) throughout September. All office visitors are invited to join in the challenge by foregoing the building’s lift or making a donation through the challenge’s dedicated JustGiving page – https://reliancehightech.co.uk/about-us/everest-challenge/.

Mt Everest in Bracknell

The challenge takes advantage of the company’s recent office move. The new state-of-the-art facility in Bracknell lays the foundation for Reliance High-Tech’s ambitious growth plans. It builds on successes over the past 12 months and signals its intention to significantly grow its market share.

The Everest Challenge will see volunteers climb 48ft (76 steps) from reception to its offices on the 4th floor, instead of using the lift. As a group, they intend to reach the summit within a month. For fun and extra motivation, the team has plotted a virtual route from Kathmandu (96 ascents), Lukla (196 ascents) through to Base Camp (370 ascents) up the North Column (481 ascents) finally reaching the summit at 605 ascents. In total, they will climb 45,980 steps. As an extra incentive, the team member who achieves the most ‘climbs’ will win a Fitbit.

Benefitting SSAFA

The team are inviting sponsorship of their efforts and donations towards SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. SSAFA is Reliance High-Tech’s chosen 2019-20 corporate charity. The Everest Challenge is one of many activities planned to fundraise for SSAFA over the year. To help with the vital work that SSAFA carries out for serving personnel, veterans and military families.

David Walton, Director of Finance at Reliance High-Tech said, “I’m excited to see the Reliance team scale new heights and raise crucial funds for SSAFA. The challenge epitomises the Reliance ethos of always aiming higher. It celebrates and takes advantage of our new headquarters, whilst highlighting the vital work that SSAFA does for the Forces, veterans and their families. I’d love to see the wider community and our clients involved. Whether that’s through donations or lacing up your climbing boots.”

The challenge team will be plotting their progress and providing updates throughout September on Reliance High-Tech’s LinkedIn company page. To sponsor the climbers or learn how to take part, visit the team’s dedicated JustGiving page.
