Samsung Techwin introduce value engineered NVRs with built in PoE+

Samsung Techwin has introduced a new series of competitively priced NVRs equipped with a built in PoE+ switch.

The introduction of the new NVRs follows on from the launch of the company’s WiseNet Lite security camera series. Collectively, the cameras and NVRs are intended to provide system designers with a wide range of options to meet the budget limitations, as well as functionality requirements of any video surveillance project.

The 4, 8 and 16 channel NVRs offer the opportunity to significantly reduce installation costs by negating the need for the provision of separate power supplies and switches. Built in PoE+ functionality means that all three of the new NVR models can provide sufficient power for any ONVIF compliant PoE+ camera, including speed domes and domes with heaters.

PoE +
“Our new NVRs with built in PoE+ switches offer a safe method of supplying power to cameras and other devices over standard Ethernet data cables, with the added advantage that organisations can utilise PoE anywhere without having to take into account any variations in local power standards,” said Tim Biddulph,Head of Product and Marketing for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “However, one of the key benefits of utilising Power over Ethernet is that IP network based systems can be expanded at any time without disruption or the need to install additional cables.”

4K camera support
The three new NVRs offer 8 Megapixel camera support which means that they are able to record extremely high quality images including those captured from 4K cameras.

Plug & Play
Although they are described as value engineered and are priced accordingly, the new NVRs are equipped with a long list of user friendly and practical benefits, including a very easy to use, multi-language, on-screen graphical user interface and they can be locally configured and controlled by a plug-in mouse or joystick controller. Samsung Techwin cameras can therefore be easily configured through the NVR interface without the need for a PC.

Operators are provided with the choice of using the NVRs’ HDMI or VGA outputs. All three models support H.264 and MJPEG compression whilst offering the option to multi-stream video at different resolutions to smartphones and tablets, as well as any PC on the network. Video of any incident can be easily retrieved with the help of a Smart Search feature which includes the ability to use Metadata search criteria.

The three new models are:

SRN-473S: 4 camera channel NVR with 4 PoE+ ports, 32Mbps network bandwith recording, one internal HDDs and e-SATA support.

SRN-873S: 8 camera channel NVR with 8 PoE+ ports, 64Mbps network bandwith recording, 2 Internal HDDs and e-SATA support.

SRN-1673S: 16 camera channel NVR with 16 PoE+ ports, 80Mbps network bandwidth recording, four Internal HDDs and and e-SATA support.
