SecurityNewsDesk.com passes new landmark in its growing popularity on the Internet

SecurityNewsDesk.com continues to rise in the Alexa rankings. This weekend, our global ranking broke the 200,000 barrier, overtaking many other sites along the way. Meanwhile we continue to sit at the top of the UK rankings.

  • InfoLogue – 19,360
  • SourceSecurity – 38,870
  • CCTVinfo – 74,275

The current top 5 global Alexa rankings for the security news sites that we are monitoring are:

  • SourceSecurity – 77,964
  • SecurityNewsDesk.com – 198,521

Website shootout

The important thing with Alexa rankings is not the absolute ranking figure but the comparison to other sites in the same market. In the security market space, while other sites have remained largely static in their rankings, SecurityNewsDesk.com has moved up steadily and continues to do so, overtaking competitor sites along the way.

At Security Media Publishing, we feel the progress we have made in eight months since launching the site has been extraordinary. In addition to our rising Alexa ranking, we have gained a Google ranking of two but expect with further work on our content that we will raise that up to a five in due course.

“While other sites have settled down into predictable patterns of activity and ranking, SecurityNewsDesk.com continues to move up the charts,” said site editor Tom Reeve. “We’re still in our first year so it’s not surprising we haven’t reached our level yet, but we are confident with our unique offering to the market – consisting of news, e-mail broadcasts, relationship building with the security industry and original video productions for the security industry – we will continue to rise further up the rankings.”
