Milipol exhibition sees Thirsk based security specialists plans further global expansion

Fresh from attending the Milipol exhibition on International state security in Qatar, wireless video transmission specialist Vemotion is reporting a great response from its appearance at the event, which the company says is just the beginning of its global expansion plans for the Vemotion brand and products in 2015 and beyond. Furthermore, Vemotion has already been called back to the Middle East and is due to follow up new business leads with the Qatar Ministry of the Interior, this week (week commencing 17/11/2014).

Now in its 10th year, Milipol is regarded as the most influential trade exhibitions dedicated to international state security, with hundreds of companies from around the world demonstrating their products and services. The Middle East security market alone is estimated to be worth over 16 billion euros and according to bosses at Vemotion, there was a lot of interest in the firm’s innovative wireless video transmission, particularly over low bandwidths.

“Milipol was a great event for us,” said Stewart McCone, CEO of Vemotion. “Our ability to deliver live CCTV footage from remote locations attracted a lot of interest from middle east delegates; so much so that we will be looking to launch some of our planned international growth plans for 2015 before the end of this year.”

Since its inception in 1996 by the Qatar Ministry of the Interior, the show has been run every two years and this year’s event attracted over 5,000 professional visitors over a three day period, giving a newcomer like Vemotion a change to put its next generation of CCTV solutions forward to a new international audience, many of whom were seeing this new approach for the first time.

“Vemotion technology has to be seen to be believed, and there is little doubt Milipol was so successful for us because we could demonstrate what we can do, face-to-face” added Stewart. “Vemotion is not just another wireless transmission solution, and you will see the difference for yourself – as soon as you see it!”

Based in Thirsk, Vemotion has established a reputation for innovative wireless video transmission know-how capable of delivering live CCTV footage from almost any remote location. The technology means that CCTV cameras can be set up in isolated areas and transmit images back to a command centre anywhere in the world and what is more, does not rely on a fast broadband connection to do so, making it the perfect proposition to show international delegates attending Milipol.

With companies like Vemotion driving CCTV technology forward, new developments seem to be an almost daily occurrence. This leap in the capability of technology is already starting to be embraced by the UK, but the rest of the world is now waking up to the benefits of the best of British technology, with research pioneered right here in the UK by companies like Vemotion.

“It was clear from our Qatar experience that there is a global market for our expertise and all we need to do now is tap into it and follow up on the very positive feedback we have received” added Stewart. “Vemotion can be adapted to work anywhere and by that we don’t just mean anywhere in the UK, but anywhere on Earth. The Middle East is a great place to start and we are looking forward to a future full of eastern promise.”

Vemotion is no stranger to international ventures, having working with the Gendarmerie in France for the last five years in connection with the Tour de France and has helped police chiefs make informed decisions using live video during everything from G20 Summits, D-Day Celebrations, the UK leg of the Tour De France, the 2014 Commonwealth games and much more.
