New features include global anti-passback, area lockout and area muster and de-muster

Software House, part of Tyco Security Products, is announcing the newest version of its C•CURE 9000 access control software featuring anti-passback and area lockout, two features that significantly enhance the protection of people and property.

Global anti-passback prevents cardholders from passing their credentials back to others to gain access to secured areas across clusters. Security directors can now further configure C•CURE 9000 v2.10 with time restrictions and to activate events such as sounding an alarm for anti-passback entry and exit violations.

Area Lockout allows security personnel to define areas that lock out cardholders who may have previously accessed other areas where cross-contamination may be a concern. For example, a lab technician who has come into contact with certain chemicals in one area may be restricted from entering a different area for a certain amount of time to avoid a potential reaction. This feature will be most useful in chemical and pharmaceutical environments.

Another important addition to C•CURE 9000 is area muster and de-muster, which allow officials to determine the actual number of personnel present in a specific location at a given time. A muster area is a specific location that is historically used as a safe area for personnel to gather in the event of an emergency. The areas can be configured so an operator with valid permissions may manually move personnel from a muster area to a specified de-muster area when the emergency has cleared.

“We have added important features for the pharmaceutical, petrochemical, manufacturing markets that require increased area control to help protect and account for employees during incidents,” said Steven Lewis, Senior Product Manager for Software House. “These features, like all the enhancements to our powerful C•CURE 9000 platform, represent new tools that give end users more intelligent control over the security of their facilities.”

The newest version also includes upgrading the C•CURE 9000 server as a true 64-bit application, including quick action buttons for acknowledging all and silence all functions and adding definable manual action default time. Users will also find a new export to Microsoft Excel icon on all dynamic views, multiply monitor display of application layouts by operator and easily editable customer field labels. To improve credentialing, a new random card number generator for personnel credentials is also part of the new C•CURE 9000 v2.10.

C•CURE 9000 is available through Software House’s worldwide distribution channels.
