Interphone delivers advanced security solution for Sutton Point development

Interphone has completed an advanced project for Ardmore Construction at the high-profile Sutton Point development, a new community at the heart of the London Borough of Sutton. The company was appointed to design and install the integrated security systems, which includes fibre infrastructure, BPT door entry, PAC access control, IP-networked CCTV and an IRS communal aerial system with SKY Q. The installation has been recognised by the UK Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) with Interphone nominated as a 2019 finalist in the Outstanding Security Installer category. “Through the effort and commitment of our team the project was successfully completed on-time, within budget, and to the highest possible standards notwithstanding design changes in the building along the way, which required modification to our own design and approach to aspects of the installation,” explained Albert Dwek, Sales Manager at Interphone Limited. In particular, the Interphone project team took the decision to move to fibre infrastructure to improve performance and ensure it could deliver a high-specification security system. As a result, the company created a fibre backbone network, which allows CCTV images to be viewed in true 1080p/4k without compromising any other components of the system. Interphone worked closely with services engineers QuinnRoss Consultants Limited throughout the project. Michael Keenleyside, Electrical Engineer at Quinn Ross commented: “We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver the best possible service and solution for each of our clients, so it is essential to have highly responsive working relationships in place with key technology partners. Interphone was flexible and adaptive throughout the design and installation phases of the development, which ensure that any changes to system requirements were handled quickly and efficiently. Their team’s knowledge, understanding and commitment was essential to the success of the project.” The sophisticated CCTV solution incorporates a site-wide, IP-networked camera system and full-perimeter PTZ (Pan Tilt and zoom) camera system from HIKvision. The full-perimeter system runs in real-time over three towers, three remote stations and two virtual concierge points with interlock ability. The external PTZ camera images, recorded onsite, are also shared with the local police. This means the management company can keep the site secure for its residents, while allowing the police to protect the area in and around the development against crime. The PAC access control system enables all management tasks related to the tenants and staff to be administered from the central computer as and when required, ensuring the highest level of security around the site and added peace of mind. Meanwhile, BPT’s XIP door entry system offers significantly greater compression, providing the clearest and highest quality AV currently available, even with the significant background noise. The added PCS concierge facility also has improved switchboard software performance, delivering full control of building communications at two desks, so the system will never be engaged and never miss a visitor call. “The primary focus when designing this project was the delivery of a system that could expand to meet changing requirements. As a result, we have implemented a system that not only uses the most up-to-date technology, but by its design, has been future proofed with the ability to grow. Therefore, the developer can meet all its internal requirements and ensure high levels of security for residents, visitors and members of the public,” commented Dwek. David Dobouny, Operations Director at Interphone Limited added: “We are committed to the highest levels of service delivery. This project was selected to demonstrate our technical capabilities covering access control and CCTV systems for our NSI accreditation. We achieved a grade A rating, with zero faults and no negative comments regarding on-and off-site documentation, design and installation. This is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved, especially considering the size of the project. Sutton Point is a large-scale mixed-use scheme located close to the town centre. The high-profile development included the full demolition of an existing tower, and the design and construction of 332 one-and two-bedroom apartments, prime three-bedroom penthouses, 21,000 square feet of retail space, 18,000 square feet of office space and an 80-bedroom hotel. www.interphone.co.uk

Interphone security for Harrow apartment development

Interphone security for Harrow apartment development Interphone, the leading security systems and building technology integrator, has installed an integrated access control and fob entry system at Carmine Court, a brand new apartment building in Rayners Lane, Harrow. The solution included innovative features such as restricted lift access and resulted in a subsequent request for an advanced IP CCTV system. Interphone was appointed following difficulties with a previous supplier, so a proven partner was needed at short notice that could install all equipment quickly and provide ongoing maintenance support. The company completed the implementation of the bespoke security solution, including the installation of all entrance panels, fob readers and monitors across the 31-apartment block, within a week of receiving the order due to the urgency of the work. The innovative lift access only allows fourth floor residents to travel to their level by scanning their key fob on entering the elevator. Interphone had to work closely with the lift manufacturer to install the system and ensure all equipment operated effectively together. This required an onsite meeting where engineers from both companies teamed up to integrate the technology and enable the required key fob activation. Interphone was asked to submit a proposal for an IP CCTV solution, which was not part of the original brief. This additional requirement, made up of 33 cameras, covers the car park, perimeter of the building and common internal areas, providing the managing agent with recorded footage of all areas of the development. The CCTV has already proved to be of use following a theft that occurred in one of building hallways. The incident was captured on camera, so a high-quality recording was able to be viewed by the police to help with their investigation. Interphone will also provide a rolling, annual maintenance contract to ensure any potential faults that occur in the system are quickly rectified to avoid unnecessary disruption to the residents and added costs to the managing agent. This includes planned and reactive maintenance, taking advantage of the company’s in-house engineering team, along with remote monitoring and diagnostics for the door entry system. George Basrawy, Project Manager at Michael Shwartz Group commented: “Interphone was able to deliver on its promise, which meant that all aspects of the security solution were installed and operational within our strict timescales. Our partnership has proved to be highly effective, helping us to avoid any delays and installing high-quality equipment that is working exactly as required. They have delivered a great service throughout and their team has proven to be very pleasant, responsive and approachable.” Julian Synett, Managing Director of Interphone said: “We have used our unrivalled understanding of building security and automation technologies to provide specialist design, installation and maintenance services for this modern and stylish development. Our longstanding and proven expertise means we are working with an increasing number of organisations within the property management, development and specifier communities to fit solutions in many large and prestigious buildings across the UK.” [su_button url=”http://www.interphone.co.uk/” target=”blank” style=”flat” background=”#df2027″ color=”#ffffff” size=”10″ radius=”0″ icon=”icon: arrow-circle-right”]For more on Interphone click here[/su_button]

Interphone completes security for Riverside West Car Park

Interphone completes security for Riverside West Car Park Interphone, the leading security systems and building technology integrator, has completed an access control and roller shutter solution for Riverside West Car Park in Wandsworth, South West London. The installation is designed to enhance safety and protection for the underground car park’s customers and their belongings, with plans to extend the project into other areas of the site moving forward and incorporate a new CCTV system. The solution was implemented in two phases, including all pre-wiring and installation requirements in order to upgrade existing security features. The high-security roller shutter replaces an aging door that no longer provided the necessary usability and protection having been in operation for a number of years, while the traditional lock and key access to the car park’s bicycle cages has been updated to a fob-based access control system. The roller shutter has been installed at the top of a ramp leading down into the basement, to provide added peace of mind to customers whose cars are located in this area that only authorised people can gain access. Similarly, the access control system, fitted on the outside of two bicycle cages, will better manage who is able to enter these restricted areas and at the same time streamline the processes involved in granting permission. Historically, with the traditional lock and key access, it had proved difficult to monitor who went in and out of the cages at any given time. In fact, the control system will save time and reduce hassle to both customers and the onsite car park attendant. With the previous system, customers were required to visit the car park management office to sign for a key to the appropriate cage and then return it once they had retrieved. This not only wasted their time, but also meant the attendant always needed to be available and within close proximity to the office. With the new system, key fobs will be issued to authorised individuals, providing simple and instant access to cages, while enabling the attendant to be away from the office to patrol the site and free up time to better assist customers. Meanwhile, the car park operator will now have complete visibility of all movements in and out of restricted areas with electronically-captured data from the key fob. Katie Finnamore, Director of Riverside West Car Park commented: “The best aspects of the solution is the added control and protection we can achieve. We believe it has made the car park to be more safe and secure, enabling us to effectively manage access to certain areas as well as being able to restrict access should we need to. It has been an extremely positive experience in partnership with Interphone and we have certainly benefitted from their considerable experience and expertise.” [su_button url=”http://www.interphone.co.uk/” target=”blank” style=”flat” background=”#df2027″ color=”#ffffff” size=”10″ radius=”0″ icon=”icon: arrow-circle-right”]Click here for more on Interphone[/su_button]
