Urmet extends its range of IP touchscreens with new Max Lite touchscreen

Following on from the successful uptake of Urmet’s Max Pro Android touchscreen across numerous high-end accommodation projects, the company has now launched Max Lite, which offers an affordable price point for developers working on a broad range of residential building types.

Both the Max Pro and Max Lite IP PoE-powered touchscreens enable audio/video communication between the external door panel and the apartment, as well as providing call-forwarding to the Urmet Call2U app. The two 7” monitors also meet Secured by Design (SBD) requirements for resident safety, including lift control, CCTV snapshots and audio/video recording.

The Max Lite delivers a class-leading solution that focuses on core functionality and safety at optimum cost. It has the same slim profile as the Max Pro and features both a flush mounting kit and the popular surface-mounting option.

The two touchscreen types are immediately easy to use for any resident who is familiar with using apps and the swipe gesture control of smartphones or tablets. Installations can vary from luxury apartments to the social and affordable housing sector.

The Max Pro moves beyond the underlying functionality of the Max Lite to give property developers the opportunity to specify apps from leading manufacturers.

Using the Max Pro touchscreen and depending on what apps have been installed, residents can enjoy the benefits of using a multipurpose touchscreen from day one. These benefits include lighting, heating or blind control, plus an energy usage display, which is popular in the private rental sector (PRS) market.

Residents who are worried about nuisance calls at the ground level door station can take a timed and dated snapshot of the caller or even record a conversation. This can then be downloaded and the file sent to the central concierge.

Compliance with industry best practices

Mark Hagger, Sales and Marketing Director at Urmet, said: “By offering these two apartment touchscreens, Urmet allows developers to make a choice between price point or optimised functionality, depending on the building profile. Core door entry functions to industry best practice compliance standards are embedded in both products.

The Max Lite ticks all the crucial boxes in terms of doorbell integration, panic or other alarms, compliance with SIP and RTSP standards, 1024 x 600 display, a main PoE LAN port and Micro SD-card storage. Consistency of design throughout the Urmet range and the use of open standards means that developers or property managers can upgrade from the Max Lite to Max Pro as a site evolves, with no engineering complications or the need to replace peripheral equipment or introduce new cabling.
