360 Vision

360 Vision Technology launches new Predator SkyView360

360 Vision Technology, the UK manufacturer of rugged HD, radar and thermal PTZ imaging cameras, has announced a technical partnership with the UK developer of security and counter terrorism products, Openworks Engineering. Designed to create an accurate and cost-effective drone detection and tracking solution for all aspects of the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) / security market, the new partnership has resulted in the Predator SkyView360 camera – a complete integrated optical and autonomous counter-drone surveillance solution. Predator SkyView360 uses advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI), called SkyAI, to autonomously detect and track any drone, classifying by type and differentiating between drone and other, non-threatening flying objects, such as birds. The technology can also be used to alert to other ground or water borne threats. In addition to serious security implications at CNI sites including airports, prisons and remote utilities, drone attack and intrusions can cause downtime and serious safety implications for stadiums and event venues, as well as sites such as oil and gas facilities. Complementing the industry-standard 360 Vision Predator camera, the new AI technology combats the use of drones using pixel-accurate technology, tracking any unmanned vehicle both above and below the horizon – even on the visually complex backgrounds common to many applications. With simple set-up and fast installation, 360 Vision’s Predator SkyView360 can be connected to any ONVIF compliant VMS/PSIM software, and for specific applications, can be combined with other 360 Vision or third-party technology, such as Radar and/or RF detection. “We are delighted to be involved with such a significant new product development in partnership with a UK manufacturer who is firmly at the forefront of both autonomous optical classification and tracking technology and drone capture systems, with established credentials in the military space,” said Sara Fisher, 360 Vision Technology’s Sales Director. “The new Predator SkyView360 camera offers potential dual-use capability for highly-effective site security and drone detection – as well as integration to combine systems with camera sharing.” “The Openworks autonomous drone tracking capability, SkyAI, combined with the unparalleled picture quality and lighting solutions 360 Vision Technology are known for, will provide access to a whole new range of sectors to counter drone capabilities,” said James Cross, Director of Openworks Engineering. “It’s great to be working with a world-class UK camera manufacturer the calibre of 360 Vision Technology, with their longstanding experience and an enviable reputation in the CNI sector. We are very proud to be working with a technology manufacturer whose technical performance, build quality and support values are so closely aligned with ours.”   To stay up to date on the latest, trends, innovations, people news and company updates within the global security market please register to receive our newsletter here. Security

Into the cloud – Morey Haber

Into the cloud with Morey Haber, Chief Security Officer at BeyondTrust  What does ‘security’ mean to you?  Security is the identification and mitigation of risks that could disrupt expected operations of a resource and the data contained within.  What made you want to work in the industry?  My role in cyber security was accidental. I made the decision to expand my horizons from traditional IT into IS and found it be challenging, rewarding and an amazing learning experience. Based on the experience, I cannot imagine doing anything different.  If you could change anything in the industry, what would it be?  If I could change anything in the cyber security industry, I would like to see global standardisation and enforcement of laws pertaining to the committing of cybercrimes and data theft. Then, any new cyber-attacks could truly be identifiable as state sponsored warfare and not rogue cybercriminal organisations.   Describe a funny thing that happened to you recently?  My dog is a 10lbs high energy bundle of joy that wants to play nearly every waking moment. Recently we introduced him to miniature tennis balls that he can easily carry in his month. The best thing about them is playing catch and he will do anything physically possible to catch the ball before it hits the ground. The results are jumps, contortions and diving catches that would go viral on any social media app.   What’s the most important trend you see today?  The most important trend in the cyber security industry is the protection of a user’s identity verses focusing on asset and accounts. Identities have a one-to-many relationship with assets and accounts and managing at the higher level produces better results for the overall security of an organisation.   What three words define you?  Reliable, accountable and humble  If you didn’t work in security, what would you be doing?  If I didn’t work in security, I sincerely would like to build a workshop to restore classic cars or wood working. I thoroughly enjoy building, fixing and creating things with my hands and a workshop for either of my passions would be ideal.  What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your CV?  Ignoring the facts in my CV, I think people would find it interesting that I supplemented my college tuition by being a DJ (disc jockey) for parties, weddings, birthdays and other special events. The shear fact of being on stage and learning how to speak in front of a crowd has helped me build my personal brand today.  What is one thing you would make compulsory in the office and one thing you would ban?  I would make half height cubicles and windows compulsory in the office for all employees. I would ban rooms, including conference rooms, that do not have an external view from being constructed in any office space.   Where do you see yourself in 5 years?  In five years, I see my journey continuing in cyber security and evolving the protection of identities into a decentralised model and the creation of truly portable identity management (especially for privileges).    To stay up to date on the latest, trends, innovations, people news and company updates within the global security market please register to receive our newsletter here. WinGuard

Product spotlight – WinGuard from Advancis

Operators are supported by dynamic workflows (SOPs) to manager both alarms and daily routines with the open PSIM platform For more than 25 years WinGuard has been one of the market-leading PSIm platforms for the unified control of technical sub-systems. The operator works with only one user interface providing them with content such as maps and camera images depending on the particular situation.   Individual dynamic workflows support the control room personnel in event processing whether in case of an alarm or for daily routine and maintenance tasks., All actions such as event messages as well as individual user entries are centrally logged. Based on this data, reports and dashboard evaluations of KPIs can be generated, offering a quick overview of relevant key metrics of the connected systems and the control centre. For external use, this information can be exported into standard formats or provided in real-time.   WinGuard addresses the high security requirement for a PSIM platform with innovations in cyber security such as encryption of network communication and databases using AES.  In current times remote access is in high demand, e.g to facilitate working from home. With the WinGuard App for iOS and Android, mobile access to the platform and all content systems is possible at any time – for simple and fast remote control. For the purpose of maintenance works it is very easy to arm or disarm detectors remotely via mobile devices. On the other hand, personnel on site can report critical events to the control centre via their smartphones/tablets e.g. a liquid spill in an industrial site.   All audio information and communication from E.g intercoms, calls, loudspeaker systems, voice recording is centralised and processed in WinGuard. Access requests at barriers on secure parking areas are issues via the platform. Elevator emergency calls trigger the dynamic workflow for the response and rescue of trapped persons. If a building has to be evacuated, announcements are automatically issued via intercoms or loudspeakers.   WinGuard is used from a small installation with only one workstation upto a cross-linked network solution to monitor numerous international locations and available in more than 20 languages. It is scalable and can be extended seamlessly by further interface or function modules.   The PSIM platform offers almost 500 interface drivers to systems of different manufacturers so that there is greatest possible flexibility when selecting or updating subsystems [Text Wrapping Break](fire/intrusion alarm systems, CCTV etc.): New interfaces are constantly developed and existing onexs optimised.   In addition, the current WinGuard version is already supporting 3rd party developments or interface drivers to offer partners and users the possibility to become more independent of our own development cycles in case they would like to realised very specific project requirements. To complement that, 3rd party developments of features and functionalities will soon be possible too.     To stay up to date on the latest, trends, innovations, people news and company updates within the global security market please register to receive our newsletter here.
