Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Bin Fahad of the Dubai Police Academy, signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) which will see Tavcom’s training division provide specialist CCTV training programmes for installation and service engineers in Dubai.

The International Centre for Security and Safety based at the Dubai Police Academy plays a significant role in the strengthening of the skills of Dubai nationals, as well as local and contracted personnel of various nationalities working in the region. As such, it provides a range of vocational training programmes for individuals involved in the electronic security industry.

Under the terms of the MOU, specialist Tavcom tutors will conduct foundation and advanced CCTV courses. The objective is to improve existing skills levels in order for licenses to be issued by the Department of Protective Systems of Dubai Police Service to individuals and companies which will permit them to install and maintain electronic security systems in accordance with international codes and good practices.

“We are naturally proud that we have been entrusted by the Dubai Police Academy to provide the tutors and course material for these very important training programmes,” said Mike Tennent. “It is a very welcome vote of confidence in our ability to provide first class education for anyone involved in the electronic security industry wherever they may be based in the world.

“We are very grateful to Maj. Gen. Professor. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Bin Fahad and his colleagues Lt. Col. Nasser Ibrahim Kazim, Director of the International Centre for Security & Safety and Mr. Adil Abdel-Hadi Director of Studies and Coordination Bureau at ICSS – DPA, for taking the time to travel to the UK in order to conclude the negotiations which had led to the signing of the MOU.”
