Wrightstyle has secured a major contract with BAM Construction for the Cardiff Stations Enhancement Scheme, which includes upgrades to both Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street stations, supplying some 300 square metres of Schueco’s FW60XR enhanced curtain wall system, along with doors, windows and automated sliding entrance doors.
In another significant development, Wrightstyle has also been accreditation to constructiononline.co.uk. the UK’s largest register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants, with some 8,000 buyers – which removes a significant pre-qualification hurdle.
The Cardiff contract further extends Wrightstyle’s commercial relationship with Network Rail for whom it has supplied systems for several stations, most notably recent contracts for the refurbishment of London’s King’s Cross.
The £220 million Welsh projects, due for completion by 2015, will improve station entrances and add new platforms, and are designed to increase reliability and capacity on the Cardiff and Valleys rail network.
“Our accreditation with construction online is an important step forwards, following from our successful training and approval by Schueco, allowing us to offer a comprehensive range of both steel and aluminium enhanced systems to mitigate against fire, or ballistic and explosive attack. We also offer a design, fabrication and installation service, making us a one-stop shop for all specialist internal or external glazing system requirements,” said Lee Coates, Wrightstyle’s technical director.
In the past month, Wrightstyle has also been assessed as compliant with the Contractors Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS), and registered on its national database – removing another layer of hassle from customers.
“We aim to provide the best technological and design solutions for our customers, and the best levels of customer service. We are delighted to have won the Cardiff contracts, and to have achieved a level of third-party accreditation that makes Wrightstyle a right choice,” said Lee Coates.
