G4S have been awarded one of their biggest UK commercial contracts and will provide security solutions to Bank of America Merrill Lynch operations in the UK and Ireland.
The three-year deal, starting in December, extends a growing partnership between the Bank and the security giant. G4S already provides security solutions to more than 3,000 Bank of America branches in the US and facilities around the world.
Under the new contract, G4S will provide a range of services, including reception security, access control, patrols and CCTV operations, to six of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s sites in UK and Ireland, including the Bank’s headquarters in London.
G4S officers will utilise handheld technology for intelligence, reporting and monitoring. The use of technology-enabled operations is part of a strategic plan to get procedures made consistent between operations in the both the UK and US, creating a single global standard for the Bank of America.
Doug Hewitson, group managing director at G4S Secure Solutions, said: “This is a key strategic contract win for G4S in the UK and Ireland and our officers will hit the ground running with the provision of industry-leading security solutions to Bank of America.
“Building on our ethos of partnership working, we look forward to commencing the contract later this year which includes the delivery of technology-enabled officers as part of our complex security offering.”
