We took the challenge – now let’s see your Ice Buckets!

The Security Media Publishing team were nominated by the design geniuses at Creative Astro (see their video here) to take up the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and help raise a little awareness for a good cause.

Not ones to shy away from a challenge, we gladly obliged – and you can see the proof below:

The Ice Bucket Challenge, as you no doubt are aware, is aimed at raising awareness about, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also know as motor neurone disease or Lou Gehrig’s disease in the US, and to encourage donations to research. People all over the world have been taking up the challenge, including a wealth of celebrities.

There are a number of ways you can donate to support ALS research – and you’re not obliged to tip a bucket of freezing water over yourself beforehand! You can donate to the US based ALS Association here, or you can support the UK based Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) by visiting its Just Giving page here or by texting ICED 55 £5 (or other amount) to 70070 – this is only available within the UK.

Although the whole team here have made their personal nominations, we’d like to extend a group challenge to all of our readers. Get out your buckets and spread the word! Or even just share this video – anything that helps to spread awareness and raise vital funds for research into ALS.

If you take up our challenge, or have already iced yourself we’d love to see your videos! Either send us a link at [email protected], or send us a Tweet at @SecNewsDesk.
