The new real time image processor from Mitsubishi enables multiple real-time window overlays with no dropped frames.

The new VC-MK4000 is the latest generation display wall image processor from Mitsubishi, allowing multiple windows to be overlaid on a display wall system in very high quality. The high-bandwidth system architecture allows all windows to be displayed in real time with no dropped frames to ensure the best possible picture quality. The VC-MK4000 is ideal for high-end control room applications where reliability and premium performance are essential requirements.

The VC-MK4000 can be configured to drive either 16 displays, with four windows per display, or eight displays with eight possible window overlays. Each window displays RGB at 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA) or video at 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). All windows are displayed at native refresh rates, irrespective of the number of inputs shown or their type. Up to 32 VC-MK4000 units can be daisy-chained to allow up to 256 displays to be controlled as a single system -each one capable of showing eight overlaid windows, or a total of 32 windows per system.

As well as operating as a standalone unit, Mitsubishi can supply the VC-MK4000 combined with an optional PC platform (Base Computer) to allow the increased versatility of operating system access and user-configurable output graphics cards. A new version of Mitsubishi’s display wall software, D-Wall5, will also be launched at ISE 2012.

Reliability is a key feature of the VC-MK4000: The multiple redundant power supplies, input cards and fan packs are all hot-swappable, meaning no downtime in the event of hardware failure or for routine maintenance. Mitsubishi’s fan packs are rated for 100,000 hours operation (mean time between failure), or well over 10 years of continuous 24/7 operation.

Visitors to the Mitsubishi Electric stand at ISE 2012 (Hall 2 A24) will be able to see the VC-MK4000 system demonstrated on the latest wide-format display wall cubes from Mitsubishi’s Seventy Series. The Seventy Series family now offers a wide range of options, including 16:10 and 16:9 format displays with conventional or LED lighting.
