Into the Cloud – Oliver Lincoln

Oliver Lincoln, Senior Sales Manager for UK & DACH, i-PRO

What does ‘security’ mean to you?

For me, security has always been about creating a safer environment for everyone. Security is not only the reality of being safe but also enabling people to feel safer too.

What does your dream home look like?

My dream home is probably a house near the city with my own tennis court and a hall with a performance space and a grand piano so that I can host concerts!

If you could have dinner with any three people, past or present, who would it be?

I would have to say Sir Elton John, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) and Cece Winans (gospel singer). I think all three would have something different to say from their life experiences and would be a fascinating combo!

Describe a funny thing that happened to you recently?

I went to a garden centre with my family and covered my chips in sugar (thinking the packet was of course salt), ate the entire meal only to say at the end that the chips had tasted a little odd. My husband was in stitches as he watched me not only put the sugar on my chips but also watched me eat them before telling me what I’d done!

What three traits define you?

Positivity, Passionate and Innovative!

What’s the most important trend you see today?

Artificial Intelligence will for sure change the way our world works and is already doing that now. I believe we’re only seeing the start of AI and there’s so much to come that will be so exciting for us and for future generations.

If you didn’t work in security, what would you be doing?

I would probably be playing piano in the world of musical theatre!

What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your CV?

When I was younger (around 13) I recorded a song with a band that made it onto the Hollywood film ’28 Days Later’!

What is one thing you would make compulsory in the office and one thing you would ban?

Bring something home-made/cooked into the office once per week and I would ban coffee machines that can’t serve you a Mocha!

What advice would you give your younger self?

Life will work out to be great and you simply have to find your path and your people – have no fear about being nothing other than authentically you.
