Technical Selection with Major Asia Pacific Police Service

Digital Barriers, specialist provider of advanced surveillance technologies, has announced that its TVI surveillance technology has been selected by one of the largest police services in the Asia Pacific region, for a major multi-year vehicle upgrade programme. Digital Barriers succeeded against competition from several market-leading electronics companies in a technical evaluation. Although this will only result in revenues of approximately £0.1 million this financial year, the programme is expected to lead to material TVI sales with the same customer organisation from next financial year.

TVI is the class-leading solution for streaming real-time live video across limited or constrained bandwidths, including cellular, satellite and IP radio networks. This offers customers significant capability benefits over competing technologies, as well as material cost savings given its exceptionally efficient use of available bandwidth. TVI has already been sold into more than thirty countries, and counts some of the most prominent defence and security organisations in the world as its customers, as well as a number of cellular and satellite communication companies.

Zak Doffman, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Barriers commented, “Digital Barriers’ TVI technology continues to secure flagship customers around the world. Today’s announcement demonstrates further traction for the adoption of TVI, with sales earlier this year into law enforcement agencies in the US, Asia Pacific, Mainland Europe and the Middle East. With this latest customer win, we beat strong competition from some of Asia’s leading multinational electronics firms, which is obviously a very strong validation of the differentiation of the technology.”
