Tegile IntelliFlash HD now available to enterprises worldwide
Tegile Systems, the leading provider of flash-driven storage arrays for databases, virtualised server and virtual desktop environments, announced that its IntelliFlash HD storage array is now available worldwide through the company’s global channel network. IntelliFlash HD is the industry’s first flash storage platform that brings hyperscale performance and economics to enterprise data centres.
Targeted at large enterprise companies that are pursuing data centre consolidation, IntelliFlash HD delivers up to 5 million IOPS and 10PB of effective capacity in a single rack at under 50 euro cents per effective GB — an unheard of price for companies moving to flash storage. With the ability to hyper-consolidate mixed workloads into a single storage platform, IntelliFlash HD is well-suited for enterprises that are seeking a balance between an infrastructure that delivers high performance and one that stays within inevitable organisational financial constraints.
The American MLB Network, Major League Baseball’s 24/7 television channel, has been working with Tegile Systems to test the IntelliFlash Flash HD in its post-production editing system for the last five months. “The IntelliFlash HD has proven to be a valuable asset as we are always looking for ways to improve our post-production process,” said Tab Butler, Sr. Director of Media Management and Post Production at MLB Network. “Given its efficient economics and powerful density, we have already begun using it to consolidate virtualised applications, SQL databases, and workstations boot from SAN.”
IntelliFlash HD is anchored by the IntelliFlash OS, which powers the company’s award-winning portfolio of all-flash and hybrid arrays. IntelliFlash OS combines several architectural innovations in flash management, data persistence and data management to enable IntelliFlash HD to deliver unprecedented levels of consolidation, simplicity and cost savings. Notable innovations include:
● Scalable Architecture: Future versions of IntelliFlash HD will have both scale up and scale out controllers for sustained low-latency and performance at high scale.
● High Capacity Density: 512TB in 3RU space with SanDisk [NASDAQ: SNDK] InfiniFlash dense flash enclosure, with max of 10PB effective capacity in a single 42U rack.
● Sustained Performance: High throughput and sub-millisecond latency with a maximum of up to 5M IOPS in a single rack.
● One Flash Platform: Supports high-performance flash, high-density flash, and hybrid-flash configurations on the same platform.
● Comprehensive Data Services: Snapshots, clones, thin provisioning, inline deduplication and compression.
● Affordable Disaster Recovery: Replicate between all-flash AND hybrid configurations
IntelliFlash HD is ideal not only for latency-sensitive applications but also for workloads such as large data warehouses, analytic applications, big data processing, image processing, and large private clouds that require economical performance acceleration. What’s more, IntelliFlash HD storage arrays adapt to different media types in a single system, creating the ideal environment for any workload.
“Data resilience, economics, and investment protection are keys to accelerating the transformation of legacy storage infrastructures to all-flash,” said Tegile CEO Rohit Kshetrapal. “IntelliFlash HD is a game-changing flash platform that enterprises can rely on to achieve tremendous business acceleration coupled with very compelling economics.”
New Entry-level All-Flash Array
The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of intelligent flash arrays solutions that provide excellent investment protection. Enterprise customers can choose from a wide range of hybrid-flash, all-flash, and hyper-dense flash arrays to consolidate any and all application workloads in a single flash platform – starting at 5TB and scaling to multiple PB and all managed by a single Storage OS. The company has also released its T3500, a new entry-level all-flash array to help smaller customers begin their transformation to an all-flash data centre.
Gartner recently commented in a report titled The Top 10 Must-Ask Questions When Evaluating Solid-State Storage Arrays,
“The cost, features and suppliers of products in the solid-state array (SSA) market are changing at a rapid rate, fuelled by innovation and vendor investment that will continue for the near future. SSAs are increasingly targeting consolidation of multiple application workload projects predicated on SSA performance, data reduction, quality of service (QoS) and data protection capabilities that make them a cost-effective alternative to traditional hybrid arrays.”
