Badgemaster – The security of wearing badges at conferences

When organising a large-scale event or conference, planning to the smallest detail is essential. One of these smaller details that you have to consider is creating name badges for the attendees. For some events, this means organising hundreds, if not thousands of name badges, and ensuring they are distributed to the attendees and staff working the event.

Why are name badges so important? With the help of Badgemaster, we’ve created this list or reasons why it’s crucial to have badges at events and conferences:

  1.  Introductions

Giving everyone a name badge helps with initial introductions; knowing someone’s name breaks down a barrier immediately. The initial ice is broken and people can get straight to getting to know each other, or talking business.

  1.  Put guests at ease

Believe it or not, other guests wearing name badges puts everyone at ease. Why? Because they don’t need to remember lots of people’s names in one go – or look rude when they forget someone’s name after they’ve just been talking.

  1.  Key people are easy to identify

With event staff wearing clear name badges in order to be identified, if attendees have any problems or questions, they know who to come to immediately for help. With this in mind, you will be providing a smoother, more hassle-free experience for everyone attending.

  1.  Security

With everyone attending the event – or working it – by wearing appropriate name badges, you and your team will easily be able to spot members of the public who have intruded and aren’t supposed to be there.

  1.  Gathering feedback and rewarding performance

If your team wears name badges during the day when working the event, if anyone wants to give feedback about their work – good or negative – the name badges give them a simple way of doing so. In most cases, this will hopefully be to give good feedback, which you can then reward accordingly. However, if there are any issues with staff delivery and performance, you need to know about it so it can be addressed.

  1.  Stop counterfeiting and save you money

Conference and event name badges can now be equipped with identifiers that are increasingly hard to counterfeit, so getting name badges that are difficult to replicate will stop unwanted – and non-paying – attendees from turning up.

Make your name badges extra secure by adding a photograph to the badges, so they are unique to an individual, overlay them with a holographic label, or add UV ink that’s only available to the reader.
