OPTEX and Fiber SenSys at Intersec Dubai 2025

OPTEX and Fiber SenSys, both OPTEX Group companies, will showcase their latest advanced technology in perimeter security for high security and critical infrastructure sites at Intersec Dubai 2025 on Stand SA, F30. For sites with large perimeters, where accurate intrusion detection is critical, such as airports, energy facilities, military and government facilities, Fiber SenSys will showcase its award-winning EchoPoint Distributed Acoustic Sensors (DAS), which has been selected among the finalists for the Intersec Dubai Awards 2025. The sensors utilise intelligent detection algorithms to provide precise detection of +/- 6m in range of up to 100km, with the ability to classify different types of intrusion attempts. The system can be mounted and operated across multiple applications, such as fences, above ground, buried or in a hybrid layout. Together both OPTEX and Fiber SenSys will also use the event to preview its latest innovation in fence perimeter security. OPTEX will also demonstrate live its multi award-winning REDSCAN LiDAR series throughout the show for the high security environments, including warehouse and logistics sites, data centres, banks, museums, luxury residential properties and more. Extremely reliable, accurate and versatile, the sensors can be mounted horizontally to create virtual laser planes to protect roofs and ceilings or vertically to protect facades, narrow spaces or corridors and high-value assets. REDSCAN sensors can also be used to secure the perimeters and integrated with fibre optic systems they can provide an extra layer of detection. The Quasar Premium Bullet AI captures critical evidential and forensic video in 5 MP or 4K Ultra HD. Notably, it integrates FLIR Deep Neural Network (DNN) based Edge AI video analytics to detect and accurately classify humans and vehicles, while the adoption of FLIR Nexus enables object geo-tracking. FLIR Nexus brings edge communication to FLIR security solutions, allowing users to monitor activities in real time. This seamless connection permits FLIR devices to communicate with each other, ensuring the end-to-end detection and tracking of targets. Also in the spotlight at Intersec 2025 will be another 5 MP network camera, the FLIR Quasar Premium Mini-Dome AI. This discreet surveillance camera utilises high-end cybersecurity safeguards, providing advanced AI, video analytics and situational awareness in challenging operation conditions. Another technology prominent on the booth of FLIR will be thermal security cameras. WTC Amsterdam enhances security and efficiency with digital access solution

The World Trade Center (WTC) Amsterdam, home to over 300 companies, has upgraded its building security with a streamlined, digital access solution from ASSA ABLOY. The facility, offering more than just office space, also hosts onsite amenities such as childcare, a gym, a physiotherapy clinic, and other services. With hundreds of contractors and service providers passing through daily, WTC’s building managers sought a more efficient, modern access system to improve operational control and oversight. To address the logistical demands of managing access for staff, contractors, and suppliers, WTC Amsterdam transitioned from traditional mechanical locks to ASSA ABLOY’s eCLIQ digital access solution. The wire-free system simplifies installation across 1,000 doors, swapping existing mechanical cylinders for eCLIQ smart locks that work with battery-powered user keys, each with a typical lifespan of 10 years. Sander Borggreve, Facility Manager at WTC Amsterdam, noted the substantial savings and operational efficiency gained through the digital upgrade. “Providing wired access control to all these doors would have been a massive, costly undertaking. The eCLIQ solution meets our needs for flexibility and simplicity.” The eCLIQ system also offers advanced scheduling and security features, granting and revoking temporary access permissions with ease. Authorised team members can retrieve keys from a Traka key management system and program them via the eCLIQ Wall Programming Device, specifying access permissions by time and location. The new system has delivered operational improvements, reducing the Total Cost of Ownership by enhancing insights into usage patterns. This data informs more efficient scheduling of maintenance and services, reducing downtime and improving tenant satisfaction. “eCLIQ works seamlessly in practice,” says Rutger Barendse of D&B The Facility Group, WTC Amsterdam’s security provider. “My team is very satisfied with the system’s ease of use.” As WTC Amsterdam continues to prioritise both security and operational efficiency, the eCLIQ system provides the flexibility and control necessary to support its busy and diverse tenant base.
