The National Crisis & Emergency Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced that it commissioned the Institute for Near East & Gulf Military Analysis (INEGMA) to organize its annual Crisis & Emergency Management Conference 2012 (CEMC) to be held in the Fairmont Hotel, Abu Dhabi on the January 16-17, 2012.

CEMC 2012 aims to raise awareness and educate national crisis management communities and their partners in the UAE and GCC of the systems and processes to be employed during potential crisis scenarios.

Mr. Mohamed Al-Yammahi, head of media and public information department at NCEMA, said that the third edition of CEMC in 2012 has the full support of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, National Security Advisor and the Chairman of the NCEMA Board of Directors. His Highness underlined the importance of organizing such conferences in order to enlighten and inform officials in emergency and crisis management about the latest developments in the international arena in the best ways to deal with crisises.

Al-Yammahi added that this conference is one of the special initiatives by NCEMA, that seeks to build special partnerships in order to establish a high-level of awareness for responses to incidents, emergencies, crises and disasters. He asserted that the conference will attract a number of senior leaders and experts in emergency management from around the world to present their experiences and the best practical means to deal with various scenarios of major emergencies and related challenges. CEMC 2012 will feature a two-day conference featuring over a dozen briefings by high-level decision-makers and international subject matter authorities, around six rounds of networking sessions supported by an exposition from key private sector partners, and two carefully crafted workshops to facilitate further in-depth discussion and learning on current issues of core interest. The delegate make up is comprised of participants from the UAE, partner GCC states, U.S., European and Asian allies, and from leading private sector partners. CEMC 2012 will include an exposition for the participating industry and media partners and is expected to gather upwards of four hundred participants.
